I am down to the wire, after I get off from work I will have to make this decision. Do I want to keep my Glock 27, or, trade it off on a S&W Bodyguard 638. I need help.

Is the Bodyguard a special one, such as a nice pre-lock, or with particularly good lock-up on all chambers? (Make sure it is timed properly!) If so, that would be a reason to act now. Think of the Glock as a Craftsman drill, something that can be bought off the shelf at any time in the future, if you regret the decision. Glocks are usually reliable out of the box; that makes them replaceable. Edited to add: OK, I looked again, and saw the Glock is a .40, and that makes the answer easier. Trade the Glock, and if you regret the decision, replace it later with a G26 in 9mm. If I ever get another Baby Glock, it will be a G26, not a G27 like I had before. The shootability of the 9mm is better, it should have a longer service life, ammo is cheaper, and I don't believe there is any real difference in "stopping power," whatever that is, when using premium ammo. Bottom line: I bet you will be more likely to have the smaller .38 with you when you need it.

IMO, I don't see the Smith as an upgrade & since you already have the G27, I say -- Keep it! ;)

It has the "Hillary Hole". It is new, I don't think it has been shot at all. It's down right sexy, but my 27 is nice at the same time. I really need help on this one.

I voted before I noticed that you already have the Glock.

Keep the Glock, unless you are totally turned off by it for some reason. Save up and buy the .38. And get the 642, unless you just MUST have the hammer.

A model 38 was the first j frame I fired. Nice gun. But I got a 642 for the simple reason that it's so slow to cock the little hammer tip on a 38/638, that there's no real point to it. They shoot very accurately in double action, so I don't feel that the hammer is necessary.

I would keep the Glock if your are happy with it, a J-frame revolver would make for a nice back up or a more concealable gun if needed.

Since it is new, I would keep the Glock and save the $$$. Who knows, while waiting a nice used example may turn up in like-new condition for less $$$.

The fact that you asked this in the revolver sub-forum tells me that you are looking for a certain answer, which means you already answered the question for yourself. So go get the S&W. You obviously want it and will be happy.

Edit to add:
Although You'll have to change your name to "specialcarry", rather than "magnumcarry." Although with a 40cal, the name doesn't fit anyway:neener:
