I would like to get some reconmendations for the S&W 640 all stainless steel model, for concealed carry. I need a holster to be able to draw quickly, with good retention, and easy to take off.
Which is the way to go IWB or paddle types?
which is better Kydex, Nylon or Leather for comfort while carrying the weapon?
Please provide photos and links so i can have the best possible solution to decide what to buy. I must have spent two hours looking for previous posts to help me make a knowledgeable choice. So now I'm trying it this way.
Thanks for any help you can provide.

I train with my carry guns, so, it's important to me to be able to re-holster easily, with one hand. For me, nylon holsters are a waste of money.
Based on my experiences with my SW 640-1:
1) No J-hooks. Good for drawing, but, you are relying on the fabric of your pants for re-holstering.
2) Kydex holsters for revolvers usually have a beveled opening, making it easier to guide the flat cylinder face past the holster opening. Kydex also provide a faster draw and is thinner, mediating the thickness of the cylinder on the revolver.
3) All my holsters are IWB. They allow me to conceal even a Government Model with an untucked Polo shirt. My 640 disappears in an IWB holster.

IWB is fine if you work with an untucked shirt or wear cover garments. The beauty of the J-frame is pocket carry. I wear my 640-1 in my pocket daily in a DeSantis Nemesis holster.

Sparks VMII Easy on and off, comfortable, concealable, and secure.
Nice IWB summer rig, and a model 19 OWB in the winter.

Try a Galco Concealable OWB holster. Very nice, tucks close to the body but open top for easy access.
