I have been using 115 Grain Corbon B JHPs as my carry load. I am thinking about getting a bigger bullet.

Corbon B's only goes up to 125.

Does anybody have any ideas on who has a round heavier than 125 in the JHP that would be an equivalent to the Corbon B?

I doubt there are too many makers out there, because the 9mm isn't a round that takes well to being slow and heavy. The FBI made the mistake of trying to make the 9 think it was a .45, and the 147gr. loads developed for them ended up having a poor reputation for putting down bad guys. The 9mm is at its best between 115-124gr. with velocities of 1300-1200fps respectively.

They show a 147-gr. +P+ (1175 fps, 451 ft lb of muzzle geewhiz;)). Is this what you're looking for?

Ranger T 147s are not bad, either. The ammo makers have come a ways since the early 147s meant for silenced sentry elimination.

But I think the 124 is the best balanced load. So did ol' Georg.

Actually, modern 147gr 9mm JHPs show the best performance as far as penetration is concerned.

Check out the Federal HST 147gr 9mm load. It's got some impressive numbers:

Have you checked Stephen Camp's site? www.hipowersandhandguns.net (Could be .com, can't remember) He is Mr. 9x19.

It's more a matter of bullet construction than weight, IMHO. More important still is marksmanship. Hit the important bits.
