Bought a used rifle at a gunshow years ago so my son's friends would have a gun to shoot when we went out.. Paid $65 for it in "as is" condition. Shoots really well despite having no front barrel band. It'll put em all in a half dollar sized hole as fast as you can lever it.

Question?: Who made it and where would I find a front barrel band. The sling loop would be on that band and so would be handy to have.

Oddly enough, I stumbled across this online the other day, but it seems that most of the Western Field rifles were made by Mossberg (although not all). Unfortunately, I have no idea where you'd find replacement parts.

The M895 is indeed a Mossberg 402. You can get parts from Numrich or try Havlinsales.com, they usually have what is needed. You paid a nice price for a well built rifle. Come visit us here if you want more info:
