I was looking at Grafs web site and saw that they have a powder under their name. Has anyone usedit and do you know who makes it? How does it compare to the other common powders?

Sorry if this has been discussed before. I am new here and haven't shot my BP rifles in about 5 or more years. I guess Mountain State Muzzle Loading Supply is gone too?

I understand it is made in Germany at the Schuetzen mill. I had some of the Schuetzen branded stuff and it was not up to Swiss, at least not in my rifle with the amount of fooling around I was willing to do with it.

They sell Goex for like a dollar more...might as well go with that.

Here what I ended up with when I shot it in a Ruger 77-50. I used a Harvester sabot and a Lee 300gr 45cal cast bullet and 120gr charge.

Goex 2F = 1484 fps avg.
Graf 2F = 1455 fps
Pyro RS = 1470 fps
Swiss 2F = 1724 fps
Elef 2f = 1438 fps

So performance wise not to far behind Goex. Swiss was the speed champion and much cleaner than the rest. Accuracy was good, just behind Goex in my gun. If your going thru Graf, get a couple of cans to go with your order, never know your gun might end up liking it.

Thanks FreddyP. I have quite a bit of the Elephant brand on hand also. Glad to see its in the ballpark with the other powders.
