I've seen and read the advanced gun review done by Duke and Clint Smith while at Thunder Ranch on this new S&W 325TRD Thunder Ranch 4" inch 45 ACP Revolver. No one in the Illinois Area has one, YET. I've seen the 327 version. The unit looks very interesting with it's scadium cylinder and steel frame, removeable light rail, adjustable sights and all.

Has anyone seen and shot one of these yet? If so, I'd like to know how if felt shooting it when compared to a 625 ACP in 4 inch.

It may be too soon for anyone but the magazine writer to have touched one at this time....

I haven't heard about them, but if it has a scandium cylinder, I'll pass. I just don't like the "feel" of a scandium cylinder.

The cylinder is not scandium. It might be titanium or treated stainless. Scandium alloy is aluminum and isn't strong enough to be used for a cylinder.

Till they get rid of that hole in the side I don't care what they make. I love my old Smiths and shoot them alot. I even have a few in 45acp and they are very accurate revolvers. I would love to have more but...

I can see carrying that weapon in a CCW application as it only weighs 30 ounces. Quite a bit less than a Gov't model.

It weighs less than a K Frame Model 19. Wear it in a Hoffner's IWB holster and it should be almost forgettable while wearing.

I personally don't care for the S&W "pimple" but I'll trade the "pimple" for a superior tactical weapon. I'll carry a 30 ounce 45 all day in a revolver configuration, but not necessarily in a 46 ounce venue.

Actually, the frame is scandium/aluminum alloy and the cylinder is blackened stainless steel. I myself would be more inclined to get a "Night Guard" 325. Those C&S sights look to be pretty user friendly, and I prefer a shorter barrel for a carry revolver.

I don't know if it's actually true on the final product, but I saw an early video with Clint Smith on YouTube where he was talking about this gun and he said the light rail is removable. I would like it a lot more as a carry gun if that's the case.

Rail is removable, recoil was surprisingly controllable. I'd expected far more muzzle jump.
