No. Clothes change, what I hide under them does not.
K frame magnums and/or Colt D frame.

I used to use a P3AT in summer, and a Kimber Ultra Carry in winter, but the Kimber would drag my clothes down, and I finally got rid of it. Tried a Taurus PT-145 too, but same problem, so I went back to always carry of the P3AT until I got my PF-9. It is the ideal 24/7/365 gun for me until KT comes out with a P4T5...

No, but I've considered it. If I had the $$$, I probably would. Money would help for appropriate clothing and gun.

shoot, my carry depends on my mood and sometimes changes daily.

I used to. Warm weather gun was a CZ RAMI .40 carried IWB. When wearing really light clothing during hot weather, I pocket carried a Guardian .32 or a Keltec P-32. In winter, I'd move to either a USP 40 (set up to be carried cocked and locked) or a 1911 in .45acp. The bigger guns in winter were just because they were easily concealed under winter clothes, and I saw no reason not to go with the larger more easily controlled guns when possible.
I recently acquired a Keltec PF-9 that I pocket carry. I may stick with it through the winter or I may go back to one of the bigger guns. It'll still be strictly an ease of concealment and use decision. The Keltec is a perfectly adequate piece.

I carry a 1911 more in the colder months since I can conceal it better with thicker clothing. I've also carried my CZ75B in a shoulder holster.

I'll probably carry my SP-101 OWB a bit once I my holster arrives.

In the summer, I mostly pocket carry a lightweight J-frame or my Keltec P32.

Carry the same all year round, belt holstered OWB. Winter time, jacket unzipped. Prefer the heavier bullet : 230grn 45ACP - 158grn 38 special and 147 grn 9mm.

What I wear determines what I carry -- 9mm / .380ACP / .38spl during the summer months ... .40S&W / .357mag during spring & fall ... .45ACP / .45 Colt during the winter months.

I always carry a .45ACP of some sort. Either USP45 or 1911.

My ammo choices change depending on the seasons though. Spring, summer, early autumn I carry 230gr Speer Gold Dot. For the winter I carry FMJ.

The winters up here necessitate heavy clothing, and so I choose penetration over expansion.

I carry the same two pistols all the time. One at a time, though. 5" 1911's and at least one reload.

I carry a XD45 4" 13 rd service model in the colder month when I have the bulkier clothes to help hide it, and in the warmer months I carry a Taurus Millennium Pro PT145 nice and compact.

Yes. In the cold months I would carry my 1911PD or usp45. In the summer it was the Sig229 or often my Colt 380 Gov't. the 380 is not the best SD round, but it's better than nothing.

But now I live in the PRNJ and also foolishly sold the 380 Gov't....

until KT comes out with a P4T5...

Haha! I love it!

My clothes change which gives me more options in the winter for carrying bigger projo-slingers. A full size 1911 just doesn't look right tucked into my speedo (just kidding! :barf:)

No. I'm with 1911 guy. Mission first.

I roll my eyes a little at the industry and media for trying to convince us that a full-size auto is inappropriate for carry. Use what you shoot best.

Not really. Cover garments change. Easy to wear a jacket, so I keep my K-frame under that instead of slapping on the holster then putting on a collared shirt on top - be it oxford or hawaiian.

Same gun all year; a Sig GSR 1911. If it's warm, I carry openly, if it's cold, I carry concealed under my coat.

Seasonal CCW

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Does the type of pistol and/or type of ammunition you carry change by season?

NO

I carry the same guns in the summer as I do in the winter. Right now it's a S&W 22-4 and a 442. My other combo's are:

Ruger GP100 and 442
Glock 19 and Kahr PM9
Glock 19 and 442

Soon to be added:

1911 and 442
1911 and PM9
S&W M&P 45 and 442
S&W M&P 45 and PM9

I dress around the gun, not the other way around.

In the summer, I steal my wife's P3AT when I can, instead of my XD.

Very much so! Up here in the Frozen Northwoods, as the weather turns cold, the layers of clothing get much thicker and go from shirt sleeves to Carhart heavy coats. In the summer I feel confident with 158 jhps in my 3 inch SP 101 (.357).

In the fall, I wear heaver clothing, so I can conceal more, I also change cartridges. I wear a S&W 686+ that I had cut down to a 3 3/4 inch bbl with 175 grn SWCs.

Finally, in the heavy winter, I carry my 625-8 (Performance Center) .45 ACP with very wide meplat 255 grain SWC (Lyman mould #452423).

I believe that as the weather changes, so does the amount of penetration required to reach the "stop zone".

Summer: slim, compact single-stack, small of back.

Winter: Baby Eagle 9mm compact, 4 o'clock, paddle. Usually concealed. Occasionally open (a risky venture in Alabama).

In the summer, mostly an Airweight, sometimes XD40sc. Once I'm wearing a jacket, I generally switch to the XD and only occasionally use the Airweight.

Started carrying my GL19 in a Milt Spark Summer Special II.

Since cooler weather is here I have been carrying my GL 21 in a Milt Sparks 55BN with a double mag pouch. Yesterday, I carried my GL 22 all day. I shot IDPA earlier in the day.

I also carry a 5" GSR year-round, but not openly. I always laugh when I go to the range with only a T-shirt for cover and hear a few guys with snubbies talking about how hard it is to conceal with just a T-shirt.

I carry a J frame smith in the hot Missouri summer. When cool to cold weather comes I go to a Kimber 5" or a Taurus tracker 5 shot .41 mag.

Different guns for different seasons?
Yes, I just switched to a red and green Glock with candy striped cartridges for the Christmas season. I've been told when I fire it, it sounds more like New Year's or 4th of July...
Sorry, couldn't resist. Every day I have a loaded gun it feels like Thanksgiving.

How do you like the .41 mag in the Tracker? Ever have any problems or regrets with it?

I don't change guns for the weather. I do change ammo...JHP's in warm weather and FMJ-flat points in cold weather for my SIG P220.

I carry a Walther P99AS 9mm in a Galco OWB in the fall and winter when I am wearing thicker shirts and jackets, although I don't go out of my way to be extra concealed. Sometimes I wear the P99 outside my shirt, but just covered with my jacket. In the summer I carry a Taurus Millennium Pro PT140 in a Bianchi The Professional IWB.

I find the the MilPro is a much more versatile weapon for concealment. In addition to the IWB holster, I also have a 5.11 holster shirt, so I can carry when dressed up. I just gotta reach inside the button down shirt to get to the weapon. My jacket also has a holster built into it, so I can have the weapon on me most of the time, but can take it off without being known. Good for dates with new girls :) And lastly, my backpack that I carry everywhere has a small hidden compartment that a pistol and mag pouch can be stored in.

Somewhat. I usually carry either a Ruger SP101 3", or a SigP232.
In the summer I'd guess I carry the Ruger about 75% of the time. and the Sig the other 25%.
In the Winter I carry the Ruger about 90% and the sig only 10%.

Honestly, The Ruger conceals so beautifully that I have a hard time justifying the Sig.

a taurus model 85, hammerless in a pocket holster for summertime, or when i gotta look presentable, and a g-27 in a fobus paddle holster under an untucked shirt for most everything else.

Somewhat. CZ83 in any cooler weather calling for a little more clothing. Sig232 SL in hotter weather in a High Noon Tuckable. Both pistols have the same pointability as far as I'm concerned. Also have a FEG SMC-380 that slides into a pocket pretty easy. For woods walking in any weather it's my S&W 686, sometimes accompanied by a coach gun. For dog walking in any weather, it can be a Bond Arms derringer in .410/.45 Colt, an NAA Mini in .22 mag or a Firestorm FS-22. We don't have a lot of violent crime around here.

The season doesn't really affect what I carry.

On work days, it's a SW 642 in my pocket with a speed strip. I absolutely cannot carry at work and it's easy to slip into a pocket when I go to the store or out for lunch (semi-causual dress).

On non-work days, it's either the S&W MP9 or 1911 IWB. Sometimes I'll go with the 642 in my pocket and the 9mm in my Fatboy.

In hot weather, a Kimber Ultra Carry II in a pocket holster. When it's cool (and i can comfortably wear a cover shirt) a Bobtailed lightweight 1911 Commander in an IWB Holster.

The only concession I make to "seasonal" carry, being as I am blessed to live in the PacNorWest (we don't have to worry about having to conceal under skimpy warm-weather attire) is that I tend to carry stainless 1911s more often than blued 1911s during the rainy season ...

When I finally get my CCW, I intend for them to differ. Where I am during the winter, people wear A LOT of clothing (hey, a range between -5 and +10 will do that), and intend to keep my S&W 620 handy under my own layers. The round has to get through a lot, and be able to take environmental extremes of "warm car, cold environment", etc.

In the non-winter months, I'm just debating which .380 to buy to pack around with me.

I was stationed in Bremerton in the 80's and had a chance to experience your weather. I guess you carry those blued pistols maybe 2 months out of the year? :D
