How is the best way to remove the pressed in front bead sight on a 870 express? I would like to replace my stock bead with a Hi-Viz but don't want to mess up my barrel. Tapping the hole is no problem but removing the stock bead is the problem. Thanks in advance

My advice? Don't. They make some magnetic ones that will snap right onto the rib. You may even find you like the stock bead better. I found the fiber optic bead I put on my 870 distracting and only useful non-moving targets.

I just left it on there and got some snap on, colored (green rear /orange front), turkey sights from bass pro shop. It's basically a three dot setup that snaps right on the rib. I only use the front sight as I shoot a lot of trap. It's not quite as pronounced as the Hi-Viz sights but it's pretty good and bright enough to be made out in near darkness. Definately a cheap but significant improvement over the bead. If you don't have a vent rib then the magnetic ones are a cheap solution, maybe with a dab of high-temp caulk or some other adhesive for permanence.

I put a Hi-Viz "BirdBuster" magnetic fiber optic site on my Mossberg 500 vent rib. The directions say to leave the factory bead site on even though the 500 front site unscrews and is not pressed in...Get a magnetic site and don't ruin your 870.
