This knife is just beautiful. If you like hawkbills, you will love this knife. VG-10 steel and an absolutely beautiful blade. VERY wickedly sharp. The curve is just splendid. Feels great in the hand. The blade is a little higher from the handle when folded than the Matriarch, so carry is not as comfortable with the Matriarch, but still not bad. Bigger blade than the Harpy and more "bang for the buck" as it costs about the same as a Harpy.

Sir Galahad:

I just got and am carrying my #6 of 300 spyderhawk.

Very nice indeed.

I'll be entering the Spyderhawk into my carry knives. Have you noticed, Brownie, with the blade configuration and the size and location on the blade hole what a zip this is to open just regularly using the hole? Fast opening. The "hump" on the blade the hole makes a natural thumb rest. The control on this knife is great. I strongly suggest it to anyone looking for a hawkbill. If you've been thinking about the Harpy, forget the Harpy and get this first and get the Harpy later.

Sir Galahad:

I open it with the spyderhole ocassionally and it is one of the better designed knives for that as you state.

I still pop this knife open from the pocket however most of the time unless around sheeple.
