I got this a while ago, and didn't post pictures to properly brag.

It's a P&R 4" model 65 that someone either bought and never fired, or fired it a few times, cleaned it up and put away for a few decades. I traded a used Glock 19 for it, I think I got a very good deal. The gun is mint and locks up like a bank vault.

I found it just as I was getting over my revolver buying frenzy and gave up on finding a mint fixed sight P&R Revolver. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it (other than shoot it until it wears out) but it's going to be a lifetime keeper by the time I'm done.

I goes well with my other three 4" K-frames (P&R 19 nickel, 65, 66) and rounds out my collection nicely. Next I'm going to get a pair of 2.5" model 65s.

Sounds like an ideal trade to me! I wouldn't give you a plugged nickle for a Glunk, you made out like a bandit!

Another owner of a 65-2? Welcome to the club!

They shoot .38 130 gr Remington FMJs great. Recoil's nice and easy. A lot of fun.

A 4" Heavy Barrel Model 65 is a pure pleasure to carry and shoot!

You did extremely well to get your hands on one. Especially one in such fine condition.

Are you going to radius the trigger edges? Some of the guns S&W put out had very sharp sides that bother me after extended shooting.

A favorite load I have for that type gun is 14.0-gr of 2400 under a Speer 158-gr JSP and a WSP for around 1230-fps. It shoots to the sights on fixed sight revolvers and has a much gentler push instead of a snappy recoil. This is a MAX load and should be approached with caution.

Congrats on such a fine sidearm!!!!!!!! :)

I have a 65-2 I got for $129 in late 2003. But it was an ex security guard gun and was kind of banged up but functional. I used to have a 65-5 3" that I should have probably kept.

Nice piece, shoot it and enjoy. The 14 gr 0f 2400 and any 158 gr jacketed is a great load.

The one gun I miss from my "glory days" of wheeling and dealing, was the blued version of yours, the heavy barrel Model 13. That gun just had the right balance and feel to it; it was something of a bargain in a .357 back then. You've made a great trade there, hope you enjoy it.

Nice M-65 you got there. I had mine converted to a 3" round butt and it is my favorite revolver:

If you traded a Glock for that lovely piece, I would say you just moved WAY up in the world! Congratulations and may you two have many happy years together.
