RCBS Carbide 38 & 357 - spacer?

There's a spacer included, and this set of dies (18215) did not have the instructions. How to use the spacer? It sure seems like an easy adjustment between the length of the two different cases anyway.

Set the dies up for .38 Spl.
Use the spacer when using the dies for .357.

like walkalong said. the spacer switches the dies (roughly, might need to fine tune) the correct length to convert them from .38 to .357. If you are only loading one or the other you don't need it

You only use the spacer for the expanding and seating operations. The spacer isn't used with the sizing die.
