Smaller than reliant. Fewer of the smaller vendors, fewer "grab-bag" tables where you walk by looking at bins of unidentifiable parts and surplus web gear. Higher percentage of "name brand" gun dealers.

Nice show, doesn't take half a day to walk through it like Reliant does sometimes. Prices aren't bad, either.

I may go. I've just bought several rifles and having scratched that itch I don't feel a huge need. But there are always accessories to buy.

1. Is it a good place to get guncleaning stuff, like brushes that I cant get anywhere but through midway or brownells?

2. Can I get good prices on say a Glock 19 or will it be about the same as academy?

phantomak47,

1. yes
2. yes a good price

what was also failed to mention that the Reliant show is somewhat overpriced as it is generally the HGCA show. This show is the High Power Gun Show and they are allowed to sell various types of ammo that isn't SEALED as the HGCA mandates. Also reloading supplies are more abundant in previous shows.

All in all, both shows are good to go to. I will be going to score some 5.45 ammo and mebbe some 45 ACP as well as some 1911 mags and a scope if I can find a decent one for the right price.

I went to Carters Country today and wow, they were selling $500 glocks for around $600, I guess just people dont shop around for prices some of their other handguns where out of sight. I guess I will stick with Academy for decent deals or internet through ffls.......

Carter Country is a little overpriced. you have to watch for their sales.

SOMETIMES, they do have a little bit of a deal, I think what the carters strategy is to mark up most things for the common guy who doesnt shop around, while providing some deals now and then for their weekly range junkies.
