In severalposts regarding the Kahr PM9 I've seen mention of warping frames. Sounds like this is rare, but what part of the frame is it that warps? Just curious.

Thanks

Well a warped Kahr. They dont listen, take their medication, shoot randomly at will, think they are a 1911 (depending on how warped they are :neener: ) and some even think they are fully automatic. Is that warped enough? Sorry :scrutiny:

The rails on one side will "bow" out with the middle of the gun being the apex of the radius. By the slide stop usually. This was reported as a problem by various people but was not a problem according to Kahr.
The defect didnt effect performance or reliability of the gun at all.

Shoot well

The fact that Kahr doesn't consider this to be a defect is what gives me pause when considering buying one of their P-series pistols. I think it is a defect and I think anyone that had a gun that bulged at the frame rails would probably consider it a defect even if it didn't cause any reliablity problems.

If they would come clean and admit the problem and then fix it, I would buy one. I know they are not holding there breath for Firestar's measly $500 but I may not be the only person the think this way.

If you do a search here and on the old TheFiringLine, you should find some info.

From what I have read, the warping is a cosmetic problem that didn't affect fuctioning.

The pictures I have seen, make it look like it would be hard to spot, if you weren't looking closely.
I do think it was a rare problem, hopefully only with early guns.
