I've noticed it over the weekend (I thought it was my ISP, Drunken Monkey Connexions, Inc.), but it's running really slowly here at the office, as well.

I'm runnning a 56K land line and it's taking about 8-10 seconds for pages to fully load; even slower if pics are involved.. :(

I've got to agree that the site is very slow today, for unknown reasons. I use Netscape, and everywhere else seems to work fine...

I've a faulty log in problem, for reasons I don't understand.

In the general discussion, under the thread "Another Dumb Question", I posted a reply regarding weapons in hot cars. When I reread the thread, it was posted under Timber-Wolf's account.

'twas my normal logonn, automatic, of course, so what gives???

By the way, I'm benewton, last time I checked myself out.

Contrary to the official signiture, it's benewton starting this thread.

For some reason unknown to me, the site is logging me in as Timber-Wolf!

I've no idea of all of the possible problems here, but I note that the site is very slow too, which leads me to believe that the bugs are up and running!

Just a heads up, since I've hit tech support already and there's not much I can do from here. But, please try not to smear the Wolf with my stupid comments.

I'm away from my desk, just not away from my laptop. I've had to be mobile today.

Slow loading pages.

Before I logged on I have been "welcomed back" by a variety of usernames--None of which where mine. Just lurking I've been Mike Irwin , Dave Mc, Art Eatman...etc. The username changes sometimes when change topics. I went from Mike to Art for example.

If I log on and check "who is online" Everybody is viewing main index.

FWIW, under different usernames, I was a lot smarter in these roles (Mike, Art, Dave) felt cooler temp wise as Dave, and Mike...Art had the most comfy chair tho' ;)

No problems like that, BUT over the past two days the site has been really slow.

I have SBC DSL, and normally it would take but a second or two to switch among the forums, or to open any of the threads.

However, yesterday and today it is taking 15 to 30 seconds to do just about anything - reminds me of dial up. Then again, maybe the problem is not at the THR server, but in between, or over here...

Logged out, logged back in, and all seems to be well, for this second...

I'm running DSL too, and 30 seconds is WAY to long to wait!

It's very slow for me too. I am connected to the internet via 56K, and run Mozilla Firebird.

1973,

WHAT?

It identified you AS someone else?

How about when you posted?

Did your post go under your name, or under the person's name the system said you were at that time?

If that's the case, that means that something is seriously corrupted.

Anyone experiencing this problem, please look at your browser's saved cookies. Specifically, check the bbuserid cookie (domain: www.thehighroad.org, cookie name: bbuserid) and see if it's yours or if it's your evil twin (the user vB decided to log you in as).

Also if you could, please compare the cookie bbuserid to the userid vbulletin thinks you have at:
http://www.thehighroad.org/userid.php

The occurrences of this that have been mentioned in the vbulletin forum seem to be dismissed as proxy problems, but that doesn't seem to be the issue here.

Even better, if someone technically inclined happens to get logged in as a wrong user, please gather all the info you can (cookies, real userid, sessionid, whether you're using cookied logins in usercp, whether your browser is rejecting cookies, whether the urls you used had a sessionid in them, and anything else you can think of that might affect vbulletin's session tracking) and pm or email them to me. Or if the session has expired, you can post that info.

Thanks.

tyme,

bear with me, I'm just learning about this stuff.

Ok I earlier in the day I would not be logged on, I was lurking. I would jump from main index to view new topics. I would see "welcome back Mike Irwin, Dave McCracken , Art Eatman"...and others.

I would then choose to reply to thread, I then would be informed Iwas not logged in. so I logged as re1973 and then my password. S-l-o-w, then I'd get kicked back to main index, but I was was logged on as myself. I would then have to find the thread I wanted to reply to, and post my reply.

Anytime I'd check while logged on naturally to see "who is online", everybody , was "viewing main index". I did not see any mods or admin's in bold or bold italics.

I have been mobile today. I have used various telephone plug in for dial up.

I have a habit when being mobile, to log off, delete cookies, temp files and history. So a number times today when I hit favorites, then THR, I was just lurking...different names and I was not logged on.

I hyperlinked : www.thehighroad.org, I get DNS, refresh gets me nowhere.
If I hyperlink to : http://www.thehighroad.org/userid.php
I get "Userid 74" which is correct for me.

Unless I"m mistaken I HAVE NOT posted under anyone else's username.

Sorry for being long, clear as mud to me, HTH

I'm just relating what has occurred to me today.
2nd sem learning this stuff, doing the internet and encryption thingy now in class.

Thanks re1973

Is this happening for anyone after about 2355 EDT?

It seems that php 4.3.3RC1 was breaking just about everything. 4.3.2 seems just fine.
