Ok, to all you 1911 folks out there... I'm trying to get a nice Commander style hammer for my 1911 Officer's CCW. It is still being finished and fitted and the oval cut hammer I have in it has just way to many sharp edges.

Of the different aftermarket hammer makers out there, which ones have you found to be rounded off enough to be a comfortable carry, preventing any torn/worn clothing?

I can file down the edges and dress the hammer a bit, but honestly this hammer is an unknown maker and is just a bit heavy, so it should be replaced.

I don't know of one off hand that would be better for carry but, I will say, with do replace it, you might replace the disconnecter and sear as well. Those three parts are mated to work together and when you replace one its always a good idea to replace the rest.
