I was shopping for a Hawken style rifle for a christmas gift today. The shop has a nice looking kentucky long rifle, the brand is Juker, which I haven't heard of.
The price is $190, which seems cheap enough. It's 50cal, great shape and has what looks like a figured maple stock.
Anyone familiar with these? What's it worth, is it well built?

Might have answered my own question. From what I just read, muzzleloaders made in Spain have cheap barrel steel and are well know to blow up! The Jukar was a popular and cheap muzzeloader around the time ( 1970's ) when Muzzeloading was becoming very popular again.
I'll hold off and go with a used TC Hawken or Uberti Hawken.

Barrels probably blew up 'cause some idiot loaded one with smokeless...still, it's your face. Current Spanish production barrels are very good quality.
