I've got a Remington 673 in .350 Rem Mag. My biggest issue is the weight; it's nice to have for soaking up recoil at the range, but a PITA for lugging around hunting. So, I've been considering ditching the laminated club for a light(er)weight synthetic stock. There's the rub; nobody I've checked lists a synthetic made for this thing. Here goes: The 673 action is definitely shorter than my short action 700. Its' scope bases are the same part # as used for Model 7s. I also know that at the very least, some Model 7s left the Remington custom shop in .350 RM...it's jumping to conclusions combined with wishful thinking, but maybe the 673 and 7 are built on the same action? So a synthetic stock meant for a Model 7 might accept a 673 barrelled action with very little fitting?

Somebody here know for sure one way or the other?

I'm decently sure the 673 and model 7 use the same action.
I believe the 673 has a heavier barrel, you might encounter trouble there.

NH: thanks much. :) I called Remington's customer service yesterday just to be certain (yes, yes, I should've thought to've done that FIRST) and got it verified by them: the Model 7 and 673 share action size.
