Can someone give me a definitive answer on the difference between grey "dry film" magazines and teflon magazines (shown on sale at the DPMS store (http://www.dpmsinc.com/store/?cat=1816))?
I was under the impression that the grey dry film were mil-spec, but I'm curious as to exactly what's different.

I don't know if this will answer your question, but armalite has an interesting technote that might help. It refs to refinishing the magazines, but it explains them first.

The dry film is mil-spec and the teflon coat is the same as DPMS applies to the receivers they offer.
Increased lubricity and a more scratch resistant surface are the big advantages.

Dry film is basically a moly impregnated paint. Quite slippery when cured. I use it on the feedramp of my 38 super race gun and a few other no load rubbing locations. The coating is also used in slightly different form on the inside of the AR upper receiver and inside of some magazines.
