This is far out the stupidest "gun test" that I have ever seen. I thought it would just be a standard put a little guck in the gun, maybe a drop test, and then shoot and test it.

Instead they hit this pistol with a baseball bat. I would expect that out of moronic children that stole their dad/neighbors gun, not out of adults that are supposed to be experts in their field.

What kind of test is this.....Hmm I am going to hit my car/truck with a sledge hammer to see if the door still opens. I can get it open but it will not shut now. Gee I guess Chevrolet did not design this truck door so well. Oh but wait, it still starts and will go in reverse. I guess they did do alright. Let's drive off an embankment. Gee my tires went flat, I guess Michelin was down on the job that day.

Personally I vote for some personnel testing. Let's hit some certain people with a baseball bat and see if they still work.

Deep Frying the 1911

Deep fried onion rings will clog your heart and arteries but of course we all know that they should never clog a gun.

For my next experiment I am going to empty the oil out of my car and fill it with deep fried grease. "Yeah it started up ok, but it started smelling like a grease fire and then it caught on fire. Good thing I snaked out that one big clog. Now it runs fine."

In case it is not obvious I really am being sarcastic about this "testing" I am a very big proponent of realistic testing. You know, the real kind with labs, controlled experiments, realistic scenarios, charts, data, and some real world conclusions that do not needlessly wreck guns and give other not so intelligent people bright ideas how to "test" Uncle Bob's gun he left hidden in his closet.

I actually do know someone who has used old chicken frying grease in place of diesel fuel when they were in a tight spot, but it never occured to me to use frying grease in place of motor oil. The part about draining the oil and filling the engine with grease and the ensuing smell and fire, well took me a minute to recompose my self and get my eyes to quit watering enough to respond. Too funny.

They did have a disclaimer not to try it yourself. Darwin can take care of the rest just like the people who try to copy the TV shows like "Jackass". If that doesn't get 'em, Uncle Bob will when he finds out.

Can a KB in a .22LR firearm hurt, maim or kill you?
True its only a little bit of powder, but I've seen barrel bulges in a 22LR meaning that it has enough power to bend steel like butter..

hell i remember the first glock tests... buried in sand for 6 months... submerged in salt water for 6 months... thrown off a 10+ story building... all with a full mag, and all fired immediately after being recovered

California's state certified safe drop test on all handguns(Except single action revolvers). Give the state $5,000, three guns to destroy and then pay us an annual fee to keep your gun on the approved list and you can sell them in our Golden State.
Law enforcement agencies are exempt from this requirement.

Anybody that knows anything about single actions might question why the single most likely revolver to fail and discharge after being dropped is exempt from the test.

I put my .380 through it’s semi annual test today.
It was repeated 50 times.
This involves all moving parts not to mention 15 or so thousand, uhhh…pressure units.;)

When an article starts out: "Out torture team......" you just have to be prepaired for the cutting edge of gun journalism. Most hobby magazines on hunting, fishing, shooting, and diving are reworks of what has been said for years and years past. You have all seen them: Revolver or semi auto, which one? (semi auto wins), Semi or Wheel gun which is best (this time revolver wins) Now wait a year or more and see either the same guy or a different guy change a word or two here and say the exact same thing. This years white tail roundup, this years trout round up, what bait for spring bass? It goes on and on. Well, Guns and Ammo seems to have come up with something new: Torture test: "gun vs. baseball bat" wait a year or so and you will see torture tests in other magazines and eventually you will see, Torture test: gun vs. hockey stick. It is all done to sell magazines, not to impart any knowledge or provide any new information. How many times have you seen the argument speed vs. bullet wieght? After you have read the same bad magazine for three years, you never have to read it again, it just repeats itself.

These tests are generally suggested by viewers. I find it interesting that they do all sorts of terrible things to guns and MOST of them still fire. They have also done some really useful tests, like what happens when you put a .40 in a 9mm, or a 20 gauge in a 12. I have a suggestion if you don't like the tests--DON'T WATCH THEM.

Firepower TV guys tested a FA DPMS 1000 rounds, it took 8min, now I am all for accurate fire (that's what they were doing) but in a FA "torture" test, I would just get 10 C-Mag's and go to town but that's just me.
