Challenge to Opponents of CWL

Time after time I hear (or read) the anti-gun people say something to the effect of "I'm not opposed to police officers or trained security guards carrying a concealed weapon, but I don't want some untrained yahoo with a CWL to carry a gun in public because if something happens they will just start shooting wildly and kill and injure more people and only make the situation worse."

Well, I would just like to ask you to prove that theory. Many states have had CWL laws for well over 15 years now and some have almost no requirements at all to carry a concealed weapon in public. So, surely if your concern is such a valid concern, you should be able to document dozens of such incidents where well-intended people with a CWL came to the rescue but only ended up killing or wounding numerous innocent people in the ensuing shootout. So how about it? You got any links to any such happenings? If so, post them for us to read. Otherwise, file those concerns in the "round file" on the floor along with all those other "concerns" about every fender bender turning into the "Shootout at the OK Corral".

Bump. Still looking for some instances in which a person with a concealed weapon license came to the rescue of someone in need and actually made the matter worse by shooting innocent people.

I realize that this is probably the wrong place to issue this challenge, but I just wish that for once the people who use this excuse to oppose the carrying of concealed weapons would provide some evidence that their theories are valid.......... or else shut up.

CCW holders have on occasion wounded innocents in the line of fire. A death is very rare.

I've seen one documented report of an innocent being slightly wounded by a CCWer's ricochet.

By the way, there is no evidence that a well-adjusted person will ever "snap" and go kill people.

People with a long history of irresponsible behavior are the ones who do that.

I've said it once and now I'll say it twice - Only the bad guys got killed at the O.K. Corral!

So a situation that is a "Shootout at the O.K. Corral" is not entirely undesirable because lawmen (and a legal gun owner) defeated bad guys.

had been at that mall shopping with their spouse when the kid started shooting, he wouldn't have had the time to shoot as many people as he did. Since that incident, and several more since then, I have been carrying when I'm out running errands and shopping. If something does happen, it would help my conscience to know I tried to do something other than run for the door, and that maybe a few more people would survive because I stood my ground.
