I am a new member and would like some feedback regarding the DW 715V Pistol Pack I am interested in buying from a friend. This gun has a 2 1/2",4",6",and 8" barrels with it along with two different grips. The gun is in like "new"?condition, looks like it has never been fired,or maybe fired very little. I would like to know how much this gun should sell for and if anyone has had any particular problems with one. From what I can find on these DW guns people either love them or hate them. Thank you.:confused:

I almost bought one last year but got beat out getting to the store on time. I believe it was selling for around $900. Check www.gunbroker.com and see what they are selling for. Hope this helps.

They are great guns. The double-action trigger pull is a little different than a Ruger or S&W. It is very nice to be able to quickly switch barrels and give yourself 4 very different guns. If they were made in Monson (it says right on the gun), they are worth more.

My father had one years ago, used it for everything from concealed carry to whitetail hunting. Several years before his death, he used it as trading fodder for a new high end rifle. Wish he hadn't, because it truly was a great gun.

I did a quick check, and $800 to $900 seems to be the going rate.

I've had a DW 715-2V (the stainless Model 15) for years, as well as a 15-2V Pistol Pack I picked up last year.

I’ve have both actions polished and Wolff reduced power spring sets to ease the DA pull. I’ve used the 715 in IDPA and know of a couple others that use a 14 (fixed sights) or 15 in IDPA.

A DW revolver is VERY stout and will hold up using high-end .357 Magnum loads. The gun is VERY accurate as well and DW’s dominated the “steel chicken” ‘long range shoots in the 1990’s. I would recommend a DW (“Monson” manufacture, not “Palmer”) to anyone looking for a versatile and accurate revolver. They are not as “elegant” or quite as smooth as a S&W, but a damn fine value.

BTW, I saw for sale yesterday in a local shop a DW 15-2VH Pistol Pack (missing the belt buckle and patch) for less than $700, a decent price from what I have seen. I would have jumped on it if it was a .22lr or .44 Magnum set.

I have the 357 and 22 both in blue and both from Monson. They are both built like a '52 Buick and still have plenty of finesse. I have plenty of Colts and S&Ws but always seem to pick up one of these when I take out a field gun. I consider them among the best revolvers ever devised and recommend that you pick up that set you are looking at. From the listings on the net, $900.00 is not out of line. I paid that for my Python and like it less. Just a note, Dan Wesson is currently being run by CZ USA and is producing the .445 Supermag. I have contacted them and they say they have no current plans to reintroduce any of the other revolver lines. They will however, produce barrels and shrouds as they are ordered and do so for a pretty reasonable price. Prices that they quoted me for new barrels were actually less than some of the ones I saw on Ebay when they were allowed. So, it's still possible to pick up a differetn gun with a single barrel and slowely build your set if you wanted to go that route.

I was offered 900 for mine. The case is ok, but the pistol, extra grips, speedloaders and all that came with it - 3 extra barrels and shrouds- are in great condition.
These guns are VERY accurate. I have a blued 15V with a couple of extra barrels and a 44 mag as well.
If your friend wants anything less than 900, snatch it up. That's what I would sell mine for.
