Jim March

I had some friends who were into that years ago.

They called it "Crack: The Addiction".

July 22, 2003, 07:04 PM
1 green 1 colorless for a 2/1 first striker....not bad. definatly useful in a green speed creature deck

July 22, 2003, 07:05 PM
Bowlcut - this was originally an Elven Archers card. I didn't even write the text, just replaced the word "Elves" with "Minutemen":D

But why is he a blue card?

July 22, 2003, 07:38 PM

July 22, 2003, 07:38 PM
Because he's tactical.. sneaky.. behind the scenes. He messes with your mind! ;)

July 22, 2003, 07:45 PM
Shouldn't the background on his card be black or faux carbon fiber?? :D

July 22, 2003, 07:50 PM
See, here's the deal.. blue is the color of illusion... ;)

July 22, 2003, 08:49 PM

Not bad.

Great work...

But where's the MicroBalrog card?...

(...and how is it significantly different than a full-sized Balrog?...:D )

July 23, 2003, 09:44 AM
Well, MicroBalrogs are great for sneak sabotage attack on antis.
Being small, cute, and liberal, they may infiltrate anti societies and slowly convert them or make them doubt their convictions.:D

Or, as I always explain my nick: "you know the difference between Uzi and Micro-Uzi? Balrog and MicroBalrog are the same. I'm just more discreet and concealable."

You think I merit a card?

Here's a pic for you to use if you want to make a card.

MicroBalrog - the Tactical Reader of tomorrow!

July 23, 2003, 10:03 AM

Those are hilarious. I love Summon Pumpgunner.

Elmer Snerd
July 23, 2003, 12:12 PM
I gotta disagree with other pumpgunners getting a penalty when Dave McCracken is in play. His teachings should give all of your shotgunners a bonus.

I respectfully propose:
First Strike
Shotgunner: Dave McCracken may block flying creatures. Tap to do 3 damage to target flying creature.
Instructor: All shotgunners under your control gain +1/+0.
Oh, and he should be a Legend. :)

July 23, 2003, 12:16 PM
Someone please explain to me these different colors and numbers and symbols?

There's a picture of El Tejon at and get -5 for gunsmithing :D

The Dave McCracken card should read 'Summon "Serious" Pumpgunner" :p

July 23, 2003, 01:02 PM
I see we have more, this is great!

Steve Smith gotta have a HP card.

Back issue of Swat for Sam, Denny, Rich...

Irwin too...

July 23, 2003, 01:34 PM
MMcAll, MicroBarlog and others who have done a most excellent photoshoping job with these,

Thank you so verry much for making my day a little brighter. I just hope the company will replace my coke infested keyboard :D

I've never played a card game such as this. Is this like a role playing game? Can someone elaborate on how this is played.

July 23, 2003, 01:49 PM
Before I got sick i used to play MTG a lot. I still have a 50 caliber can full of the cards. Anyone in NJ interested in them? If so send me a PM. I dont use them anymore. They're from Unlimited through 6th.

Edited to add that i cannot give them away due to the money i have invested in them, however I have no use for them so I will let them go at the best offer. I appologize to the moderators, didnt mean for this to happen. Either send me a PM or an E-mail.

July 23, 2003, 01:51 PM
I'm in Israel and I'd kill for a can like that. Could you do something for me?

July 23, 2003, 07:50 PM
MMcCall, your kung fu was strong last night, eh? Double espresso? Red Bull?

The fiancee brought home one of those meal deals from KFC with a half-gallon of Diet Coke.. I got so busy doing those cards I wasn't paying attention, and drank the whole dang thing. Brilliant.

Skunk: I didn't know Kirk had a web site, I may redo his card.

As for Dave.. excellent points. Look for the Revised Edition soon ;)

EDIT: for those of you that have no idea what we're spoofing, check here ( for information about the game. I have to admit to being pretty hard core from 1993 to about 1997.

July 23, 2003, 08:16 PM
Where are the following cards?

LawDog, with the power of stunning quips and the ability to summon lovestruck fuzzy animals... +3 vs Saint Nick or other Holiday Avatars.

Correia, with his 200 yard headshots? +3 vs Maniquins and Tornados. - 1 vs Tents.

Tropical Z? Summons Ugly Chunk of Pistol. Stuns all other players for 1 round.

Mike Irwin - Summon Anti-S&W Bevet. +3 vs S&W.

July 23, 2003, 08:17 PM
perhaps the funniest thread I have ever read!

July 23, 2003, 08:34 PM
The rest of the THR crew is going to take a little longer, for a couple reasons: card art has to be created, as opposed to just grabbing a photo off their web site. Also, I don't know as much about some of these other folks, so smart-assed flavor text may be harder to come by :)

I'm committed though.. this is fun.

Without further ado:

I can not believe so many people play Magic the Gathering. I still have a large collection of revised, fallen empire, fourth, etc from that time period, about five years ago.

For those wondering, the colors and numbers in the upper right are what is needed to cast or summon the card from your hand.

The lower right is attack/defence for creatures.

There are five colors(elements), and some multi color, and colorless cards.

It is a fun, but expensive game, you spend about 10 cents for each card give or take which adds up.

Art: Sage

Me: I like 1911's,I appreciate blue and wood and of course -"Use Enough Gun"

This is so cool. I have played a little MTG in my day and would buy the THR version in a heartbeat.

This gets the CSLINGER seal of approval. Well almost, where is the Holy SIGs card. All those enchanted with SIGs get a +1 to attack and +1 extra turn due to reliability.

We need SIGs in this game.

How about a The Cult of the P7 card. Black card cult member. The possibilites are endless.

July 24, 2003, 01:03 PM
Eagerly awaiting the "1 Shot Stop" card... Fackler vs Marshall & Sanow!

I actually played that Magic card game a little bit... we got like 100 free BOXES of the cards in Bosnia at our base camp for some bizarre reason.

I suggest something involving 10mm Auto (see sig link for details :) ).

Still waiting for the LawDog card.

Coronach needs a card. Something about spit polished leather and starched white police uniforms. Coronach - His own parade. Something like that.

CR SAM needs a card. Old gaffer with a cane and about a dozen large framed wheelguns hidden on him and in his beard.

A few more... and I will print them all out. Okay... maybe not... but these are still funny. I don't understand the numbers or little icons. I've never played Magic. But I do get a good joke.

July 24, 2003, 07:10 PM
I'm flattered, guys.. I've kind of just gone where the muse has taken me, I hope I haven't offended anyone by way of inclusion or exclusion.

More to come..

July 24, 2003, 07:11 PM
George, I don't understand the cards either, I think you and I had baseball and gum in the one's we collected :p I even went to the site indicated...its official, I'm getting old.

Agree : Lawdog,CRSam,Rich L, ... don't forget pax, we have signed target of hers by Cirello, somewhere around here -that target and her quotes. Can't wait to see what Sean turns out to be.

I'd pay good money for a "Mike Irwin vs. the Hottentots"

LMAO :D Spilled my tea on that one

July 24, 2003, 07:17 PM
ROFL! This thread is great! I haven't played 'Magic: The Gathering' in a couple of years, mostly due to the price of it. "Hmm, I can spend $10 and get a bunch of cards, or I can go buy a box of ammo..."

But man it's a lot of fun. For those not in the know, M:TG is basically Dungeons and Dragons in playing card form.

And Jim March is right. A friend of mine referred to the game as 'paper crack.'

July 24, 2003, 07:22 PM

Slinger update:

I think they're at the 4 gun mark after the "no more guns till 2005" self imposed buying ban.:what: :what:

It's funny to watch Cslinger drool (over a gun) and say "No, honey I really don't want it, no really ,really I don't want it I have something like it. Ok, I'll get it.

OK, I'll play your silly little reindeer games...

Bear with, as I don't have time or inclination (or talent) to put this into card format...

Summon Shotgunners

Aerial Cover

When the Shotgunners come into play, winged and otherwise flying creatures receive -5, all friendly players receive +5.

Special Note: If all Shotgunners are out of turn, values reset to even.

If all shotgunners except Moderator Mal are out of turn, winged and otherwise flying creatures receive +5, all friendly players receive -7.

I don't do Photoshop, and yall would probably not like my attempts at "art", but some more card ideas:

"Excessive Tacticallity"
White, two manna casting cost
Caption: Becoming overly clever, the Leader of the Mall Ninja outsmarts himself.
Effect: Causes Skunkabilly to become tapped with no other effect.

"Too Much Gun"
Red, three manna casting cost
Caption: Having attached superfluous accessories to their gatage, the Mall Ninja need to sit down and quietly recover.
Effect: All Mall Ninja or creature cards with two or more Tactical cards attached may attact with +3 this turn only. All cards used in such fashion do not automatically untap at the end of this turn, but may do so at the end of the next turn. Discard 1 Tactical card.

"We need bigger guns..." part I
Blue, two manna casting cost. Picture is of a Sharps falling block.
Caption: For those occassions when .308 just won't cut it...Sharps .50-120
Effect: Instant. Give one attacking card a +3 bonus for any one attack. Discard after use.

"We need bigger guns..." part II
Black, two manna
Caption: Holland & Holland .700 Nitro Express Double Rifle.
Effect: Gives a single card, with NO Tactical Accessories, two attacks at +4 for one turn. Both cards then are put in graveyard due to mortgaged house, depleted bank account, and fractured collarbone.

"Return of Mikey"
Black, one manna
Caption: Some...persons...gave the overweight twit money for another propaganda film.
Effect: Half of the opposing players cards that posess Common Sense and/or any Gun become tapped while they go in search of asprin and a quiet place to lie down.

"Keystone Cops"
Red, 2 manna
Caption: you are subjet to your own rules, dammit.
Effect: Use on opponent who has "Dianne Feinstein" in play. All of his useful and/or entertaining cards are shuffeled back into his library and cannot be used (and must be returned to his library, not discarded) until "Dianne Feinstein" is removed from play and burnt in front of onlookers.

For those who--like me--had no clue what this was all about ...

The cards are a stitch, even though I'm clueless WRT MTG!

The _real_ bigger gun...

What's with this "?/?" stuff? Where would a lowly benchrester fall in?

Andrew Wyatt 1 green, 1 red, 3 colorless

Summon staunch defender of the mini-14 and mossberg 500

Tap, pay three colorless. target player who talks smack about the mini-14 for being innaccurate is treated to a rant about how the mini-14 is a fantastic carbine that handles better than any ar-15 variant.

Tap, pay 1 red, target player who says bad things about the mossberg gets challenged to a tactical COF.

I'll run a tactical COF against you and your oh so superior defender any day.

Ah, I mistyped.. I mean Pyle.:scrutiny:

Gee, that makes me feel good about life...

Anyway, good cards from all.

Oh my good lord, I got a shout out from the Ogre. Not bad for 15 minutes of caffeinated hyperactivity and a free copy of Photoshop!

Bogie, since it would take all day for you to set up your wind flags and rest, and then you'd only fire 5 shots at 200 yards, you'd only get a -1/-1. If you bring voodoo equipment it gets worse.

Sorry bub.

Boats - methinks Eurotrash should be 1/1

July 29, 2003, 09:49 AM
I know jack about the actual game itself. It does seem from what little I have picked up that Eurotrash would have a weak attack and no effective defense though.:D

Yeah, but I can consistently cut a playing card in half at 100 yards...

That's gotta count for something.

And I just recently got my 1911 back!

July 29, 2003, 03:22 PM
this thread brings back some memories. About 5 years ago I used to hit the St. Louis MTG Tourney scene. God I used to be such a dork. Still am, but at least I'm a 'gun dork' (tm).

My vote for funniest card goes to 'castle bravo'
