My uncle recently passed on and left me several black powder muzzelloaders. I know nothing about these kinds of weapons. I'm really not sure what you would call them. I think "Flintlocks" might be right also. # long rifles and one pistol. All have beautiful wood and metal "decorations", for lack of a better term. Is there anyone I can email pics to that might be able to help?
All help greatly appreciated.:what:

Also, I can't find a serial # , a name or anything on these.

Post the pics here (you may need to set up a free account at photobucket.com to host them, so they'll show up), and we'll be able to help.

Email is generally not a good idea for sending photos - they tie up the bandwidth. The forum provides a better alternative.

On THR you have two choices: attach the photos to your message posting or actually insert the photos in the message body. Attaching them is easier for the poster, inserting them is easier for the viewers.

To attach them, open a new message window with the Post Reply button. Click on the Go Advanced button and scroll down to the Additional Options area. There is a box titled Attach Files, within which is a Manage Attachments button. Click on that; it will open a popup window. In that window click on the browse button, which will open a directory window showing the directories and files on your computer. Use that window to navigate to and select the first image file you want to attach. Click the Open button, then the Upload button. The file will be uploaded to the THR server and appear in the Current Attachments box. You can attach up to 5 image files in this manner. When you are done attaching files, close the popup window with the Close Window button. Notice that the files you have attached are listed in the Attach files box in the Additional Options area beneath the message text window. Complete the text portion of your message and click the Submit Reply button. Viewers will see your image files as thumbnails at the bottom of the posted message, and they can choose to click on them to view full size images.

Inserting the image files within the message requires the use of a third party server, such as Photobucket.com. You will need to register with them (registration is free). Once you have done so you can upload your image files to your account on their site. On the THR site you open a message in the usual manner. When you have reached the point in your message that you want the image to appear, open the Photobucket window and click in the Direct Link window beneath the image you want. You will notice the message "Copied" will briefly appear. Return to the THR message window, select the Insert Image icon in the bar above the message text window and hit Ctrl-Y; the address of the image file on the Photobucket site will be copied into the window. Click on OK and the address will be inserted into your message text between two image codes. There is no limit to the number of images that can be inserted in this manner. The images will appear in the posted message in the location you inserted them. The viewers will need to take no action to view the images.

There is one disadvantage to the Attachment method: once you have attached an image to a message you cannot use that image as an attachment in another message without returning to the first message and removing it as an attachment. In short, a given image may only appear as an attachment in one message at a time.
