I'm needing a price check on an old shotgun I bought on a whim.

Winchester Model 12, 20 ga, 2.5" chamber, 22"(?) barrel manufactured in 1916 (serial 135***).

The gunsmith thought it had been refinished. Its in great shape no rust or scratches to be seen.

I'm looking to sell it due to the fact I don't want to mess with the 2.5" shells. Whats a fair price range? Would this be considered C&R elegible due to its age?

yes, it's C&R. Who ever refinished it did a great job. Hard to tell without personally inspecting it that it's been refinished.

Were it original finish @ 90% or better with no pitting, rust and excellent bore, it would bring between $600-750.00. Slightly more for cylinder choke and original butt plate.

Being refinished, depending on the degree to which it was buffed, the quality of the job overall and with what appears to be an aftermarket or replacement butt plate (white line), 50 to 65% of those above numbers.

I just picked up another model 50 in 20g, or I would be interested in this myself. These are great handling guns and I've owned several over the years.

Choke is Modified if that matters.

measure the barrel down the bore with a empty chamber and a closed action....the barrel on your early 20ga should be 25in...if shorter its been cut..
