How long was your CCW wait?

It's been 71 days since I applied for my Arkansas CHL and I've heard it can take as long as 120. It shouldn't take that long to process anything.
How long was your wait(and what state are you from)?

Greeting's All-

Way back yonder in 1968, seems like I turned the
application in around 0800 hrs to the Jefferson Co.*
Sheriff's Office; and before 1700 hrs that day, my
CCW license was in my hand!:D :uhoh: :) Cost?
Came to a grand total of $7.50. And here in 2003,
thanks to our good sheriff Mike Hale; it's still at
$7.50, and its still good for one year!

*Birmingham (Jefferson County) Alabama

Best Wishes,

It took me 120 days to Get mine here in Texas, Because I forgot to write in one of my employer's Phone numbers from 5 years ago. They Noticed that 30 days in. They sent it back to me I corrected it fed-ex'ed back Priority, they had it the next day. I called them on the status , and they told me My 90 day wait had restarted. But I finally got it to the day they said I would. It was a Great Day.

I am a MD subject, but luckily they could not stop me from getting a Utah Concealed Hangun Permit (valid in VA). (Should have seen the expression on the faces in the Maryland State Police barracks when I said I needed fingerprints for my out of state CHP - where is my camera when I need it?).

From the day I mailed off the application at the post office, to the day I recieved my permit in the mail from the FINE state of Utah? FIVE WEEKS. Not bad at all, considering I am a non-resident, and did not have to leave the confines of my beloved Maryland to get it.

PS: My thanks to the citizens of Utah for respecting my rights more than my home state does. Thanks Utah highroaders.

- about 10 weeks for me here in Kentucky.

Michigan.
applied on Feb 14th (how romantic, eh?) recieved on May 30th.

my permit is good for three years, but as of July 1st, all new permits are good for 5 years. also, a few of the restrictions were relaxed. (previously, we couldn't carry any where that served alcohol. now we can carry if they make less than %50 profit from alcohol.)

edited because I'm apparently a dummy-head and can't read dates.

Sheriff's Office ... total time?

Wait a bit to get form - fill in form - take to clerk - wait for background check - hand over $21.50 - wait a bit whilst D/L copied and added to permit sheet - wait for that sheet to be reduced and laminated.

Walk out .. probably no more than 20 minutes tops!:) Valid 5 years.

How long did it take me to get it or how long it took them to process the application? I used up every bit of the 6 months I had to send it off before I had enough spare cash ($135) to send in the application. After they received my application it took about a month and half to get it back.

I applied at the Courthouse in Downtown Seattle. That place is scary. Metal detectors, X-Ray machines, the works. I even had to hand over my Leatherman to the deputy on duty! Application process was pretty painless though and the clerks were nice.

A friend of mine just moved down to Oregon and applied for his CCW. Said it was pretty much the same as Washington law except that he had to take a safety class on top of everything else.

in Massivetusheets....60 days exactly. Was told new ones are taking 10 weeks. 4 years ago the original took about 10 weeks. Was $25 for 4 years - now $100 for 4 years plus photo and fingerprinting fee of $5.

Mass law says it must be issued or rejected within 40 days. So much for the state to have to follow it's own laws.
