Hit him square in the kill zone with a 7mm Rem mag and he still managed to run 100 yrds before he went down.
It was a great day out with friends and family. And anyone in Michigan or in the area that wants to go on a boar hunt. http://www.michigantrophyhunts.com/1_Home.html is the place to go The guys there were great and made the experience one I will remember. I will be back for sure for another hunt in the future.

Wow...this thread's a double-whammy for me. Makes me miss Kerrville!!! Makes me miss boar-hunting.
Curse you! Oh yeah, and congratulations. Don't mind me, I am just admittedly envious!
Doc, was that 1911 the take down device or the backup? Yikes, I've been into plenty of places with pissed off piggies and while I love my Les Baer to the end of the earth I don't think that would be all I would want to have. I've put three in the boiler room of a charging boar with a 7mm STW and it still almost made it to me.
Oh, and again JDOC, congrats. Makes me want to go out again and get some more.
This is the charger, came out worse than chargee, but I was still a little rattled:
This would be a good post for you to put on the thread about the guy with the .45 taking down bear. Pigs have a tough plate. I'm impressed. JDOC, please don't mind us old pig hunters hijacking your thread. I'm glad to see you're into them. They can be addicting to hunt.
