I am really curious.

My "Range Bag" is a soft zippered gun case with two side pockets, one of which has partitions for mags.

So, my range bag has in it:
My Gun!
Mags
A box of ammo (always)
Uncle Mike's Sidekick holster
9mm BoreSnake
Snap Caps
Earplugs
A Mag Loader


So what's in yours? I'm just kind of asking to get some good ideas of things I've forgot. So, please, tell me everything that's in your range bag!

Pistols other than what I'm carrying. (and a holster of some sort for each)

Lots of ammo of each caliber. (handgun and long gun)

Cleaning kit and old t-shirt for a rag.

"eyes" and "ears"

Tape and thumb-tacks for targets. (Staple gun when I remember)

Small Shoot-N-C targets


Gosh, I know there's more. I'll look when I get home.


edit: Oh, yeah. Tools such as small screw drivers, pliers, and whatever accessories came with my guns.

In my range bag, I have: gun, ammo, ear muffs, box of orange dots, cheapy binoculars, multi tool, and a rag.

I have all the junk already mentioned, plus one thing I added a few years ago: a container of ready to use moist towlettes. These are great for cleaning lead residue and gunk off your hands from shooting handloads made up of Bullseye or Unique. I have also used them to do some general gunk scrubbing off of guns. Not the best use, but they work.

Oh, and don't forget the spotting scope or binos....

I have 3 range bags

#1 is the ammo bag, about 20# of various ammo depending upon what I might be shooting that day.

#2 is a portfolio type thing that holds all my different targets.

#3 is my gear bag that holds...

Shooting stuff: timer, gun (if I'm not wearing it), ammo, mags, eyes and ears. Sometimes my dummy gun, especially if I have a newbie along -- useful for demo'ing proper grip etc. A list of drills I'd like to try, or standards I'm working toward. Mini-flashlight.

Target stuff: targets and/or plain paper, marking pen, tape, stapler, sticky targets, boxcutter knife, roll of duct tape, a screwdriver and a few other small tools.

Creature comforts: sunscreen, bandaids, moist towelettes, a comb, and chapstick. Bottle of drinking water. Small notepad and pen. There's a first aid kit in my car which includes a tampon (useful for plugging a bullet hole) and plenty of other supplies.

Cleanup stuff: a couple plastic bags for holding spent brass.

Usually not a lot, and usually not what I need at any given moment.

Ammo, a screwdriver, some oil/grease, cleaning patches, exwife's head, extra magazines, maybe some reading material if I'm going to a match where I'll have to sit between strings, and exta hearing protection.

I use a Gun-Ho box, it'll hold 5 guns. I have a small Kowa spotting scope (attaches to the box lid), gun cleaning supplies, ammo, magazines, ear muffs, screwdrivers, spare battery for my dot scopes, allen wrenches, Altoids, targets, NRA certification, pencil, pen, rag, plastic bag to cover all this crap up when it rains and the bench doesn't have a roof over it, glasses + my Merit adjustable iris gizmo, clip on blinder for non-dominant eye, Pardini spares kit, shot plan and no doubt some other stuff that I almost never use.

Really depends on where/what I'm shooting.
For just general range stuff my bag has:

Targets (both standard ones and the cheesy IDPA-style ones you can make out of grocery bags.)
Staple gun, extra staples, pen, 3x5 notecards (good for writing stuff on as well as using for targets.)
ear plugs
ID card for the range I belong to.
ammo
mags
the other gun(s) I've brought with me.


That will change slightly if I'm practicing at the indoor range. Usually then I won't bring targets because they're available at the range, and I will bring my el cheapo BSA spotting scope.

I've considered including a small first-aid kit, as well as organizing all the little stuff (pen, ear plugs, etc) in some sort of pencil box or something.

Eyes and ears, some cleaning stuff, , marker, staple gun and staples, extra mags, courses of fire, keys, ammo, guns.

Clear and amber shooting glasses. I wear gray shooting glasses when I drive so they're always available. They're good glasses, and I figure if I ever have a wreck, wearing shooting glasses might be an advantage.

Muffs and plugs. I generally double up shooting the big boomers indoors.

A pair of compact binoculars. They're good enough to see .22 bullet holes at 50 yards.

Compact cleaning kit (mostly for the rod in case of stuck cases or bullets). I've never had to use it, but I've loaned it to others.

Staple gun & spare staples.

A terry cloth rag.

A silicon gun cloth.

A marker.

Ammo supply for the day.

Maybe mags for the day depending on the size.

I usually take a separate gun case and some of them have places for mags.

If I'm going to be doing longer range shooting, the spotting scope goes in its own case.

I carry a wide variety of pocket tools, otherwise I'd have some tools in the bag.

Nope, that's what little old ladies use to mark their bingo cards. It's a plastic bottle with a sponge rubber tip and full of a quick drying liquid ink. I've seen red, green, and blue.

I've never thought to take one of those to the range to mark bullet holes, but I like the idea!
