A Custom II is a LOT of gun for the money. Seriously, I think they are great shooters. Very accurate, great fit (well finish is subjective, the bluing wears kinda easily), and it has all the goodies that most people want. The fixed sights, in my opinion are excellent. I love the flat, serrated all black sights, great sight picture.

Only thing I'd really want would be frontstrap checkering, so that'd be a TLE w. nightsights. But a Custom II would be what I'd be recommending everyone looking into a 1911 anyways!

The Kimber Custom IIs were the best Kimbers that I ever owned!!! Each and every one of them was flawless in fit and in function. IMHO, the Custom II may well be Kimber's point of rationality...most 1911A1 for the least money.

BM...I agree, that SIS is nice!!! I looked at the Ultra and the Pro on Saturday.

I bought a Kimber Custom II a little over a year ago. I am very satified with it's performance so far. I just ordered some cocobolo smooth grips from Brownells to replace the stock rubber ones. I am enjoying it, shooting it and eventually will customize it. One part at a time!

congrats, custom ll's are great guns and very accurate and reliable from my experiences. the first 1911 is always special, have fun with it and we want pics!
