Hello this is my first post although i've been reading for a while. I went to a sporting goods store in bessemer today and saw what looked like a 6"-6.5" barrel model 629 that had deer hunter etched on the side. It was weighted well to me and fit my hands well but I was wondering has anyone got any info on this gun. I've been searching for an hour and cant find even a picture. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the link. I dont believe any of them are it. It looked like a 629 classic only with Deer Hunter etched on the side, wood grips, and a rough etching of a buck on it. Now that I think about it, it was also ported.

This is the only thing I could find on that revolver:

Looked like a special promotion for the 2007 SHOT show. Just out of curiousity, what was it going for?

There was a 6.5 inch 629 Classic with engravig and porrts like you describe made 10 plus years ago. It was called the Colorado Hunter. This is a fine sixgun if you like the ports. It does not have the internal lock and is much better then the current S&W's.

I believe it was 750$. It was brand new and had the internal lock. Very nice looking piece. I may go back and look later this week.

$750 is a great price, especially if it is engraved. I would definately check that out again!!
