12 Volt Man

I just returned from the annual "Pioneer Days" parade in my home town of Bountiful, Utah. My daughter was in the parade with her dance group.
There was a section of the parade with a big banner that said, "Till They All Come Home". They had a bunch of local military boys who had just returned from the war and families of those who were still there. They got a standing ovation as they passed by. They were all in their BDU's and as they walked by, kids were running up for high 5's and wanting to shake their hands. I was damn proud. The best part was a woman walking her baby in a stroller with a big sign on the side of it. The sign said, "My Daddy is Fighting the Bad Guys in Iraq". It was so awesome. It brought tears of joy to this big 280 pound man.
I am glad I was not around when the boys came home from Vietnam and did not get the same patriotic welcome. I feel bad that they were treated that way.
