I am cautiously optimistic. Remember it's just a recall, not a magical time warp where noone votes for a socialist...

Well, not all leftists are evil.

What if someone like me or Mark Tyson runs for Governor?

Dare I dream? :what:

And what of Crude Bustanonte, who is trying to hi-jack the recall.:scrutiny:

He came right out and said he was NOT going to put question 2 (Who do you want for Gov?) on the recall ballot, there by appointing himself Kali's Beloved Leader . :banghead: :cuss: :fire: :barf:

I hope Crude does just that. Negating 1.6M signatures is a move that is sure to help the Demohogs in that lovely state.

Others have pointed out it may be better to allow another Dem to take the govenorship for right now.

An incoming Republican would have to work with all of Grey's cabinet appointments, and the Dem majority in both houses. That could wind up making any conservative getting the office look just as bad as Grey, and kill the chances of getting the legislature back. Especially if the Dem's go into "scorched earth" mode politically.

Although, most anyone other than Feinswine or some Berkley/Commie at this point would be better than Grey, IMO. California has nothing to lose. No matter what happens, Cali politicians who don't see a successfull gubanatorial recall as a major "shot across the bow" would have to be legally brain-dead.

How did this guy get reelected this past November if he's such an unpopular governor?

Whom was he running against? Satan?

He ran against Simon. Simon got done in when a reporter found out that his managing of his private company was in shambles. Connection was that if he couldn't keep a bizness straight, then what of the state?

Key thing to the reelection is if someone viable can run against Davis. If it's Simon again, Davis may just pull it off. If Davis doesn't, his political career should be at an end. :)

People say this re-call will do more harm than good. They voted for the evil they know rather than that which they don't. They say just let our duly elected officials do their job and not get distracted by this re-call.

THEY HAD THEIR CHANCE TO DO THEIR JOB AND THEY BOTCHED IT!!!

This recall shows that we once again expect accountability from our politicians. This partisan extremism and finger pointing is doing no-one any good. We want actual people in office and not just some partisan automaton. We've had enough of the popularity contest in Sacramento and their charades of political prowess. It's time to send the message that we will not except dufae like Gray Davis going through the motions of government without getting anything done and without taking the blame when poor judgement leads to poor results.

Next on the docket...the State Assembly!!!

RECALL EVERYONE and let the chips fall where they may!

As said, Gray was elected simply because Simon ran an incompetent campaign. For his part, Gray virtually hand-picked Simon as his opponent (something like $10 million donated to Simon's campaign). Even at that, the margin between the vote was incredibly slim, considering Gray was the incumbent and Simon was a wholly inexperienced unknown. Bottom line, there was nobody good on the ballot.

Hopefully the successful recall with shake up some complacency.

Finally, the recall will put a fork in Davis' political career, 'cause he's done.

I just wish we didn't have to pay for it. Too bad we can't pass a law where the loser of the election has to pick up the tab for it.

I just wish we didn't have to pay for it.

They (the Davis supporters) cry and moan and whine and carry on chanting the democrat mantras;

This will cost CA $60,000,000.

Women and children will be put out in the street.

Our schools will be defunded.

This is the work of RIGHT WING EXTREMISTS.

When Duffus took office, CA had, by most accounts, a surplus between $6,000,000,000 and $10,000,000,000. That’s right, BILLION.:)

By most accounts, we have a deficit of $36,000,000,000 to $40,000,000,000 now.:banghead:

So even though I’m not an accountant, I played with the numbers and came up with this.
Using the averages of $8 billion surplus and $38 billion deficit, follow the numbers. :scrutiny:

Davis has been Governor for 4 ½ years.:(
Davis has squandered $46 billion.

4 ½ years = 39,447 hrs.
$46 billion divided by 39,447 hrs. = $1,166,122 pr hr. :cuss:

If my calculations are right, it will only take one or two days to offset the cost of the recall.

I'd be perfectly content to leave the governor's slot vacant. Most of the Senate and Assembly seats, too. That would save a few bucks...

I'm just thrilled that the man who was proud of his anti-2nd track record is being handed his walking papers.:D
