The New York Times headline for the Death of Uday and Qusay:

"Two Children Killed By Guns"

NOT the photos I'd have picked to go in the Hussein scrapbook. Massive body trauma the result of multiple TOW missile hits. Good riddance.:fire:

Doesn't the US govt realize that killing Sadam's little boys will pi$$ him off and now he's gonna use all his WMD on us?

I wouldn't recognize the people in those photos if they lived next door to me. Are the Iraqi people supposed to see them and know who they are?

Cremate them and stuff their ashes into the Super Bowl Foot Ball, so that everyone will enjoy it.

Here's how it goes-

-we say we got 'em

-they say we don't believe you, show us proof

-we show photos

-they say "No way, the U.S. (or the Israeli Mossad) faked those photos"

Unless we capture the evil-doers alive, there is no proof we can offer that will satisfy all the masses. The distrust/hate the world has for us is just too great,

Same thing will happen when we get Osama, Mullah Omar, and Saddam.

A reporter on Fox News (commenting on the fact that some Iraqi's don't believe it's really them): "Keep in mind, this picture was not taken on their best day." :what: :D geegee

That picture of Uday reminds me of Private Pyle in Full Metal jacket.

Regarding the pictures....those two dudes weren't much to look at, even before ballistic intervention. In Uday's case, one could argue that he looks loads better now.

Come on, where are the tinfoil hat folks? Someone has to create the story these photos are faked and the two are actually in the Witness Protection Program. The US wouldn't release real photos of dead guys, it might upset the democrats and the Iraqis would start shooting our troops in the back.

However, they do now have a nice photo presence.

I'm glad that evil is gone. Some one at work asked a question I didn't have a good answer for...
"What's th difference between the US showing these 2 trophies to the Iraqis & the Iraqis showing their US prisoners and dead?"
The best I could come up w/ was the US is showing the Iraqis these pics to verify to the Iraqi people these evil people are gone while the Iraqis where showing the US soldiers to embarrass & humiliate them.

Back in the late 1970's "Hustler" magazine (that's right, the pornographic one) ran a photo layout called "war - the real obscenity." It was a series of photos from the Vietnam war that were never published. For good reason. There were photos of soldiers hit in the chest by mortars -- think of the Thanksgiving turkey after 8 people had at it -- or beheaded, or burned to a crisp but still alive and wrapped in tin foil for the trip to the overseas burn unit, etc. etc.

Then there's the early 20th century German anti-war book "War Against War" with B&W photos from WWI -- soldiers still alive but missing half their face (left side or right) or nothing from the bridge of the nose down, eating out of a tube.

The photos of the Hussein brothers are very, very tame compared to that stuff.

"What's th difference between the US showing these 2 trophies to the Iraqis & the Iraqis showing their US prisoners and dead?"

Because these guys were not soldiers killed in combat or innocents caught in the crossfire. They were fugitives on the run that, once tracked down and trapped, decided to fight it out instead of surrendering.

Secondly is the fact the majority of Iraqi citizens fear Saddam and these two. As such, they may not cooperate with the US troops trying to help them rebuild their country for fear these guys may some day come back in power.

In most of the latter half of the 20th century, the US was known to bail out when things got tough and leave the locals hanging. The only way to convince Iraqis they no longer need to fear the Husseins is to provide absolute proof they are dead.

From the time of old west photos of outlaws laid out in front of the sheriff's office, people like Dillinger, Ted Bundy, the two idiots from Columbine, Sharon Tate, Nicole Brown Simpson and even JFK, releasing photographs of the dead has been an accepted practice.

Unlike the video released of the Iraqis laughing over the bodies of dead soldiers or the previous videos showing dead Americans being dragged through the streets, the images released by the US Government/LEOs are respectful of the dead, whether they deserved it or not.

Photos were released for the benefit of Iraqis not Americans or our media.

Our media ought to be appreciative the Iraqis didn't demand control of the bodies.

Americans are called ugly Americans because we insist on judging other cultures on the basis of ours. We don't go for parading bodies around therefore Iraqis are unjustified in wanting to. Ugly, right?

If I lived under what those people endured for as long as they endured it, I would not be satisfied with pictures.

I think its too bad they wern't able to take them alive and turn them over to torture chamber survivors.
Imagine what they would do; torture them until they were near death then bring in the doctor. Give them a month or so to recover fully then start all over again. Do this for a couple of years.
May sound cruel but if they were responsible for half the things they say they are it would be justice.
They probaby had a fate like that in mind when they decided not to be taken alive.

I wonder why no one is comparing the amount of time it took to locate these two to the amount of time we have been looking for proof of WMD. It took all of this time to locate two living humans, which are far easier to locate and a lot harder to hide than something buried out in the desert. Perhaps they should allow more time for searching for the WMD before claiming with absolute surety that there are none and trying to hang Bush's scalp on the White House fence.
