as accurate as anything else, and usually more accurate than the shooter. you'll be limited by the factory loads you run.

The ADL's are great guns.

I think you will find the gun has exceptional hunting accuracy.

But the average plastic stock and thin barrel does not lend itself well to true bench/precision shooting. And truthfully, that's not what the gun was made for anyways.

I LOVE my 700 ADL (270). It's my #1 deer rifle and if I can do my part it will shoot 1 1/2 inch groups with cheap factory Federal 130 gr soft points. I bet with handloads it would break an inch, but I have other guns for that. My ADL just needs to be a rock solid shooter under bad conditions, and it does that wonderfully.

Duck911 hit it on the head. For hunting you can't go wrong. It also is a pretty good target rifle. With the 06 you can load everything from 110 gr. plinkers and critter killers, to large animal loads. With mid grain match ammo it will do a pretty fair job on the range too. Its just very versatile and will shoot better than most of us are capable of getting it to do. Enjoy your new aquisition!

The only way you will know what your rifle will do is shoot it off a bench rest at 100 yard targets. If you do not reload ammo try a few different brands of factory rounds. The rifles as they come out of the box may have a 5 to 8 pound trigger pull. Have a gunsmith reset the trigger pull down to about 3 pounds.
