When someone says SAY-gah, I think Sega and that little fast blue hedghog.

I've always called it SIGH-gah.

Blue hedge hog?
Say "say-ga" and most everybody know what you are talking about around here.
Merry Christmas all !

The name of the antelope for which the gun is named is pronounced (sī′gə), according to my dictionary. I assume the macron means the same thing as macrons elsewhere, so that would make it "sigh-guh".

beat to death on the saiga boards (by me). SIGH - GAH is correct and it seems most americans, especially south, say SAY GAH.

I never put a connection to sega but that makes sense to me.
