I've transfered 9 times in 20 years. My employer knows 3 things about me: I will not live in California. I will not live in NYC or Metro DC.

They think it's because of the people or maybe the business environment...

Boots, these pistols are part of the handguns that are exempt from having to comply with the list. Buy one- they are perfectly legal here (as are most single-action revolvers).

Here are the exemption requirements for SA revos from the DOJ website:
Single-action revolvers with at least a five-cartridge capacity, a barrel length of not
less than three inches, and either: (a) were originally manufactured prior to 1900
and are curios or relics, as defined in Section 178.11 of Title 27 of the Code of
Federal Regulations; or (b) have an overall length measured parallel to the barrel of
at least seven and one-half inches when the handle, frame or receiver, and barrel are
assembled. (Penal Code § 12133.)

when i had my superblackhawk, it was a great gun, but the square triggerguard and the regular gripfame really pounded my hand with full house loads....i've read a lot about how the bisley grip really tames recoil....

i really can't wait...

They are indeed excellent handguns. I just sold a Blackhawk Hunter .44 mag that I simply wasn't using. It was very impressive with Hornady 300 grain fodder.
Boots, enjoy the pistol. I've bought from BUDS a couple times- it's hard to beat their prices sometimes.

Hello,

As I am in the market for a Ruger SBH-Hunter will be buying in or around Feb. and came across this post, then went and looked at Buds Gun Shop, and I just cannot believe my eyes!

Is it really possible to order a Handgun from someone, I always thought you had to walk in somewhere with all the CA paperwork and licenses, etc.

So I guess what I'm really asking is Buds Gun Shop is the real deal?

Thank you,
RFB

I don't live in CA but I would assume that you will have to obtain the same licenses or permits in CA as always. Here is how it works.... you choose gun, you pay for gun (say with a credit card); you provide copy of FFL license of dealer that gun will be shipped to; gun is shipped to FFL of your choice in your state; you go the FFL and complete whatever paperwork is necessary for the transfer of ownership. Nothing changes really except in this case Buds makes the profit on the gun and your dealer gets whatever he charges for transfers. State sales tax, you can deal with that one.
