Duo 635 Cal F. Dusek Opocno

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi, my name is Ron Smith from Mississippi. I was just given the above gun that belonged to my father. It has a serial no. 16367, and the number 41 on it. It was in a holster that also had a holder for an extra clip but there is no extra clip with it. I would like to know anything that I can about this gun as it has been sitting up for a lot of years, I do not wish to sell it but would like to know its worth. All I found on the internet was that they were manufactured in 1926-1949 in CZ.

Rather than doing a lot of typing, I will simply quote an old post of mine.

"The DUO was introduced in 1926 by F. Dusek, hence the alliteration in Dusek Duo. The one pictured (in the original thread) is pre-war and has the Dusek name. Some were made for the Germans in WWII. IIRC, after the war, the communist government wanted to consolidate arms production and gave the Duo design to CZ, so it is under that name in some lists. Fjestad states that the pistol is still being made as the "Z" pistol by CZ, but I assume they cannot be imported because of the GCA 68 restrictions.

It is a very nice pistol, reasonably accurate and extremely reliable; it is one of the few .25 Autos I consider on a par with the old Colt and Browning."

Hi Ron

Agree with Jim . Nicely made :)
They also made the CZ45 , the little DAO 25 acp . Sleek little guns as well .

41 is the date of mfg I believe . Got a little eagle or something near the 41 ?

It appears to be some kind of a bird in front of the 1941 but you can't make out if it is an eagle or not.

After thinking further , it's most likely an upright lion . Although some of these do display Nazi markings . These will command a big premium .
