For range work (where economy gets the nod over searching for that last quarter MOA), who's got the best deals on 50gr-65gr .224 bullets?
Right now, I'm buying Hornady 55gr SPs for about $75/1000 shipped.

I might have to switch from 60 vmaxes for a deal like you get on the 55 grainers...where do you get yours?

I dunno about changing away from the Vmax's. I would be reluctant to do so.

Hornady SPs for $63/1000 plus shipping from Wideners (http://www.wideners.com/itemdetail.cfm?item_id=1953&dir=278|281|293|324|696). They're out of stock right now. MidwayUSA sells the same bullet for $70/1000.
The PV deal sounds good. I've been trying to stick with SPs or OTMs because my primary local range has a FMJ ban, but I may have to load up some of the FMJs for use at other ranges.

hi-tech ammo has the grd#2 pulled and polished 62gr FMJ for $160/3k ($.0533/bullet) plus S&H,
they're less than a penny's difference per bullet than what you can get the hornaday 55gr FMJ from wideners or midway $370/6k ($.0616/bullet)+S&H
if your just wanting plinking/blasting bullets, hi tech ammo also had the inert grd#3 54gr tracers for $72/3k ($.0240/bullet) and is probably the cheapest jacketed bullet you can find now,
the only thing with them is that they foul the bore quicker than regular jacketed bullets.
