The Appleseed Shoot is coming to Manatee Gun and Archery Club in Myakka City, FL. http://www.appleseedinfo.org

This will be a Groundhog Day shoot, February 2-3.

Myakka City is @1 hour from Tampa/St. Petersburg, @30 minutes from Sarasota, and @1:20 from Ft. Myers.

Camping is available and this looks to be a great location for an Appleseed, and the folks at the range are really good folks.

Come on out, get some quality rifle instruction and meet some good folks.

Kids under 21 and Military shoot FREE.

I agree Gene is a great guy. What range are you going to be on? The main line, or the bench rest range?

For those looking to goto Manatee it's on State Road 64 off of I-75, it's 22 miles east of the highway.

Sorry for the slow reply, Happy New Years? :(

We will be on "Area 51" and perhaps the 200 yard range, depending on turn out.

I can not say enough good things about Gene! Top notch. He has been very helpful and positive to work with.

My hope is that this shoot is a huge hit, 50+ shooters, so we can book several more there.

April 19th is a big day for the Appleseed program. We are trying to have 12 shoots on that weekend, to commerate the start of the Revolutionary War, and we expect over 500 shooters to attend, nation wide.

Looks like we may have one in Pensacola, there is an outside chance that we will try to get one at Manatee as well, and there is a very slim possibility of Jacksonville.

Florida would be the only state with multiple Appleseed Shoots that weekend. We are discussing it, it would be interesting, to get over 150 Sunshine folks on the range, Appleseeding on one weekend;):D BTW: You heard it hear first;)

I will keep you posted, but for now, this is the only shoot in Florida for this time.
