Does everyone lube their brass AND bullets? Just one or the other? I'll be using carbide dies, so I know you don't have to, but probably a good idea. Now how do you physically do it? I bought some of the one shot spray stuff. DO you just spritz them in a container, or take each and roll them around on one of those lube pads? Does the lube build up and cause gunk in your feed tubes? I'm going to use the Lee auto brass and bullet feeders.

Lube the brass only the bullets shouldn`t need it or will be prelubed if they do.

You need a good manual. The book will answer these type questions and offer tips to help avoid problems. No one should start reloading without reading at least one.

I no longer lube brass since I bought carbide dies but I do make sure they are clean and wiped of dust before running through dies. As for bullets... I don't lube handgun unless I'm shooting lead to minimize leading.

I am not satisfied with the Lee liquid lube method so am considering buying a lubricator. Not sure if it would be any better. The Lee liquid method coats the entire bullet rather than in a groove. I had problems with the lube on the base of the bullet. Even after the lube dried a few days powder would stick to it. I now wipe the base before setting up to dry. Makes a difference, especially with certain powders and in large cases such as the 45 Colt.

I would be very interested in opinions between the Lee liquid lube and the stick lube applied in grooves with a lubricator. It obviously would make cleaner bullets but what about leading? I don't want to be disappointed after making the investment. I will also be loading 30.30 jacketed and lead as well. Santa brought me all I need to cast and load 30.30 Winchester except gas checks and lube. Ed.
