You don't know me!

Not that there's anything wrong with that, but I was wondering why some (many) members here provide no information in their profile. I've long since stopped filling out "warranty" cards that are presented as necessary but are really just consumer surveys; but I'm curious as to why some folks who participate here regularly don't say where they're from, etc. Just not worth the time, or not important enough, or ... ? Hey, I've left the pet count off since TFL but I say something. Again, no offense intended. I'm just curious. (Lurkers exempt.)

As for myself, the less info publicly listed, (as oppossed to having to wade through all the posts ) the better.

Perhaps I am paranoid ( But am I paranoid enough ?) but the Net is like firearms, wonderfull when used correctly but a small percentage of bad/crooked users can cause big trouble.

Its not that I do not trust the people running THR but what happens when they replace their server and the drive was not properly reformatted, someone hacks in or someones boyfriend/girlfriend gets their passwords and sells it to someone else ?

Most of us have a valuable desirable property that is in high demand by crooks ( not to mention the antis ) why make their job any easier ?

I wonder the same thing myself Ed. If someone wants your info, it doesn't matter whether you post it or not - there are ways.

Save me the trouble of getting a map - is Norristown in NE PA? I have a few relatives in the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton area. I vaguely recall the city, but I may be confused.

Mike, it's about 15 miles NW of Phila. I'm a Philly native, with mom's people from the "coal region" -- Centralia, Ashland, St. Clair, Pottsville, Mahanoy Plain, etc. Scranton? Ain't that near them NYC folk? Regards. Ed

For me, its a matter of privacy/security. I don't tell people that I carry or what I carry or when or where on my body. Its a bad idea both tactically and legally.

However, I do discuss these things freely on this board because it can't be traced back to me by anyone.

Does that make sense?

I use several different boards and most of them have seperate registrations. There's just too many fields to fill out. Too much crap to deal with. I figure that if someone wants my info, all they have to do is ask, I'm not afraid of people knowing where I'm at. I welcome them to stop in anytime, contact me freely or whatever. I'm just pretty easy going.

I am actually an angel in disguise, presenting myself as a pastor only to prevent earthly mortals from being blinded by the brightness of my being. Hence, a profile would be superfluous...

I guess I am not too hard to find. The government knows where I am. The people who operate this board know where I am. I know where I am. I don't think that most folks care about where I am. So it goes....;)

My area is easy to find. Hey, it's on most maps! I'm not easy to find, but it's not difficult to get to my house. Any 4Wd will do. Make sure you have plenty of water.

Nope. Your IP can be traced when you log onto the board. You can be found by anyone that really wants to.

Most of the blanks would be filled in with N/A, as I dont use any of the messenger sevices or have a hompage. My birthday is filled in along with my general location so that region-related and age related posts dont leave anyone guessing. You want to know exactly where I'm from? I live in Asheville NC.
