Well I sent my Taurus 450, 45 colt 5 shot 2" barrel, in for service, the cylinder was drilled crooked, needed a new one.

They said no problem,

Called repeatedly they kept saying 2 weeks, they were waiting for the cylinder to arive from Brazil.

Today, 4 1/2 months later, they finially said they couldn't find a cylinder or a replacement gun so choose another gun.

Anywho I'm going with the 44 mag 12 inch barrel as I have neither a 44, nor a 12 inch barrel in the safe and this should fill a nice niche.

Any impressions on their foot long barreled guns?

Was this one of their current model guns? If so, why could they not find a cylinder or another gun to replace it with?

It is a new gun, but I believe they discontinued them.

It was The titanium model, they offered a blued replacement but i've never been a fan of Taurus blueing.

Hmm, couldn't you get Stainless? My Wifey's stainless tracker is excellent...

I'm a big fan of the Taurus revolvers, but I haven't had a chance to see the 12" 44 mag. I have seen many of their stainless revolvers and think that they are under-rated. Sorry to hear about your problem with the 450. I know a guy who picked up a LNIB 454 revolver ( I think in 81/2" barrel) that was absolutely beautiful.

Bottom line: Show us pics when you get it!

I would have chosen the 454, but that's another story...

Well I don't think I going to get away with that big of a price diferential, and I already have the 454 SRH which shoots quite well:D

Plus with my only 44 being an Uberti 44-40 I had a hole in the collection to fill, I keep trying to get to collector status instead of gun nut, always a few pieces away though

I've had mixed luck w/ Tauri, but have heard pretty good things about the entire revolver line...CONGRATS! Glad to see Taurus has solved the problem. Don't forget to tell us how she shoots!

It's too bad that they made you wait 4 1/2 months for an answer. But, they are doing the right thing by giving you a new gun of your choice. If they no longer make that model - what can they do? I've had S&W tell me that they couldn't service one of my 25 year old blue magnums because they no longer had the required part. They did not offer me a new gun.
