How many POUNDS of guns do you own?

OK, this is a new dimension of an old question. How many POUNDS of guns do you own? So you own so few that you can carry them around in your pocket or would you need a tractor-trailer rig to carry them to the woods when TSHTF or TEOTWAWKI?

As for me I don't have a clue. Several folks have already told me that, but not on this particular subject. :)

Many.

And many many many pounds of ammo and accessories.

Assuming I could find a way to actually attach all the firearms to me, I could carry them all around at 1 time. I'm not going to run a 5 minute mile with them, but I could totter along. Trying to tote all my ammo around though will most certainly give me a full on blazing hernia.

More than three people can carry at once.
As for ammo...
More than 10 people can carry at once.

The guns and ammo with fit in the pickup:( .

I need to do more shopping.

Enough that the last time I moved, it took 2 loads in the pickup to transport them, an additional load for ammo and reloading supplies, plus a special trailer to haul the safes. :)

Are we talking loaded weight or un loaded?

Either way,

I'm gonna need help from a few friends to move them all at once.

I'm with AZTOY, that's what I've got a truck for. Probably even have a little payload left over for other stuff(maybe not) I guess that's what the other truck is for!!

A little under 60 pounds, not counting ammo, mags, bayonets, or reloading gear.

Including the weight of the guns, ammo, accessories, gun safe and cupboards used to hold it all, something over a ton. I know, because I moved in March, and had to carry the whole darn lot!

:what:

I might be able to move the equivilant weight in a block of iron or lead for all the firearms (I couldn't do them as firearms though, too bulky). Move it, not carry it, move it. I would have to get a good bracing on something and then might be able to shove it with my feet.

Ammo I wouldn't even want to think about moving.

Best I can figure, doing some fast and rough calculations, roughly 300 pounds of guns.

Not including mags, ammo, bayos, optical sights and related do-dads and cool high-speed clutter, I estimate I currently have about 85 pounds worth of firearms. Cool, I never thought about it like that! Now I have to figure out how to distribute that weight between my wife and the three girls when the time comes.:)

Okay, now I have to weigh the guns. This is getting weird. (Alright, maybe a hundred pounds worth. Are they fat or do they still look good in this?)

More than I can press with my legs and arms combined. If I "pile" them up ala "war trophy" style, they'll all fit into the bed of a truck, but the scratches!:( My heaviest is a 26" heavy bbl Rem 700 w/HS Precision stock. That must weigh about 15 lbs min.

Around 13 Lbs. of fun and security.

I don't know, but they sure seem heavy when cased up while carrying them out to the truck. The double rifle cases are the worst- put a Hawkin rifle and a swedish 96 in one, and a shotgun and a target rifle in the other, it feels like I'm carrying two cinder blocks. I could fit them all in my truck, but it would take several armloads, and I don't have enough guncases for all of them.

Somewhere between 600-700 lbs of guns, I ain't even gonna try to estimate the ammo.:what: SWMBO just looked over my shoulder and said "HOW MUCH!"

I don't know exactly. It's not up to tonnage but is in three figures. Much more in bullets. About 20 or 30 pounds of powder. Maybe 1 pound of cleaning rods.:)

I have over 100 pounds of firearms.

Most of my weight would be the ammo. I have a G21, G17 and a Bushy AR15. 45 auto gets real heavy.....

Plus a few family heirloom guns.. a Browning A-5 from the 30s and a Winchester 1873.

I've been calculating today. Maybe 120 pounds not counting muzzle loading rifles. 150 pounds with them. Thats a lot!!:uhoh:

All this question came about from a discussion I had with my godson some months ago about how much his Army equipment weighed. Poor guy humps over 100 pounds not counting the recoilless rifle! :what:

That's why everybody needs their own tactical all-terrain red battlewagon to cart their toys and ammo around (especially convenient at the range). Works for me! :p

Well in guns alone about 75 pounds. They would all fit in the trunk of a compact car.

Ammo however is a completely different story. Just got a load of shotgun shells in and combined with the various other rounds the total is about 1,500 pounds.
