I am having difficulty finding reloading data on Barnes 95 grain, flat based XLC bullets for 243 Winchester. Any input is appreciated.

Thanks genius. I have the Barnes manual (3rd edition) but no info on the 95 grain XLC for the 243 Win.

That's interesting, my Barnes manual doesn't list a load for 95 grain .243 caliber XLC bullets. You could call Barnes or extrapolate the loading data. If you look at 85 grain Barnes XBT and XLC BT bullets and IMR 4320, you will notice that the maximum load is 3 grains higher with the XLC bullets. If you go to the 95 gr. XFB you could increase the load by an appropriate percentage.

For what it's worth, in the cartridges I've loaded these in, I've used 1 to 2 grains more powder than for other bullets of the same weight.

Grumulkin,

Thanks for responding in a helpfull manner. Have you used Barnes bullets (243cal) for deer or antelope hunting? If so how were they?

Have you tried 1-800-574-9200 or tyh@barnesbullets.com ?

Barnes XLCs are very accurate in a 7mm Rem. Mag. but I haven't used them for hunting yet. The 243 caliber XLCs should do fine for deer or antelope.
