Does anyone have a helpful link for CZ-75 disassembly? I've found step by step instructions in the past for my MKII and 1911s which were really helpful in getting it right the first time. Curious if anyone has a similar, photo by photo link for the CZ.

I'm looking to switch the mainspring on my CZ-SP01 to a 13lb spring.

Why don't you go to CZ-FORUM and try talking to Armoredman, or Walt sherrill. Both also post here on THR. You can also try Mike Mink at CZ-FORUM or even just contact CZ-USA...........................

Thats pretty light, range only I hope:)
Not hard to do.

1. Remove grips
2. Remove mag brake top pin (it pushes out easy one way, small punch by
hand)
3. With hammer down, push the butt of the gun into a wood block (I use the
edge of my reloading bench) compressing the hammer spring a bit, to
release the bottom pin. (push out with a punch, by hand) continue to
hold pressure, while you fish the mag brake out of the plug.(Has a slot
cut in it to retain the mag brake loop)
4. remove plug & spring.

The CZ Forum may have a pictorial. Good luck!:)

Exactly what JDGray said. This is a 5 minute job, and that's including 2 minutes in the middle to go to the kitchen and grab a beer. ;)

Henning is sponsored by EAA/Tangfoglio, and has video on takedown here:

The Tangfoglio is basically the same as a CZ...

But you can do the mag brake BEFORE you do the sear, etc. Just like JDGray. The trickiest part is "fishing out" the little hook on the bottom of the mag brake! Once you learn, its like riding a bike, but it can be a pain.

On a related note:

Do the compact models (P01, CZ-75 Compact, PCR, etc) use the same length hammer spring as the full size, or compact specific?

Thanks
Rob

All the CZs use the same spring length. The retaining plug is longer on the full length frames, to make up the differance. Wolff shows a compact spring, but it's for a clone, and it will be too short:mad:
