I think the Russians started making them in 1898 so there may be one year of them around but I've never seen any for sale.

Give these guys a call and ask for Ken. He will be more than happy to help you out. The last time I talked to him, he had quite a few that he recently acquired. His prices are very fair and has done boatloads of business on www.thefiringline.com , the sister site of THR. His handle is WildAlaska on there.
You won't be sorry...

Is there a reason that you're specifically looking for one with antique status? Because your question leads me to assume that you are trying to avoid a background check, since you obviously don't have the knowlegde of them indicating a true historical interest.
FWIW, it is the model 1895 Nagant. ;)

There are probably some out there, and they would have antique status. but most would have been manufactured after 1898.
You might find more info in the firearms research forum, moving it there

They're out there, but are tough to find and to positively identify. The vast majority are C&R not antique. However you can find antique firearms of similar construction such as some of the older Swiss and Swedish military revolvers.
Because your question leads me to assume that you are trying to avoid a background check.
Is there anything wrong with that? I hate background checks. Given a choice between doing a check on a M91 from 1914 and avoiding a check with an antique M91 I know what I'm chosing. I don't care to have to justify my perfectly legal purchase to some federal jackboots, thank you very much. So if I don't have to, I won't. Besides which there are hefty fees for getting an FFL to process the firearm up here in this captive market, not to mention the annoyance and delay of having to go through the shop.

... if you want to get your fair share of abuse ;-)

Thanks for the information. I was not clear on the dates as all I have access to are a few websites with limited information.
I picked up a Webley Mk VI and found I love break top revolvers. I've picked up more and found a gunsmith who will work on them.
I can get a C&R Nagant as I have an 03 FFL but thought there may be a possibility of getting one that's antique. I assumed and rightly so they'd not come cheap nor be easy to find. I've had no luck so far.
