I've read some posts about setting up your press with a piece of tubeing running into a used water bottle or something similar to catch spent primers.......it eliminates or reduces the need to touch the spent primers....trying to keep my blood lead levels down......I've done some searches but can't find any details on how this is done exactly, I've got a Lee Turret and I don't see a way to run a tube to the slot where the primers ususally fall. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

The primers don't fall into one area with any regularity on my Lee Turret press. I just stick a trash can under it and let them fall into it. The few that don't make it into the trash I just vacuum up with my shop vac.

Lee Classic Cast turret press has the primer drop through the ram, the aluminum version does not.

Unfortunately about half the time the spent primers miss the drop.

My Lee Classic Turret through the ram primer catch gets way closer to 100% than does my Dillon XL650. Don't see how your's wouldn't work unless something is blocking the hollow in the ram preventing them from passing thru to the catch tube.

The aluminum turret scattered them everywhere, needing a big bucket indeed to catch most of them.

Is this the one you have?

They all should go down the center of the ram.

A little paper on the sides reduces the ones on the floor down to about 10%. Not great, but cleanup's a little easier.

Snuffy, that's the one I have. When you deprime do you have the priming mechanism in place or do you remove it?
