Which gun do you think is a better choice if you ONLY had the two to decide from? Hypothecally speaking if Jennings made a 45acp or comparing a 9mm Jiminez to a Llama 9mm?:confused::confused:

Preferably neither. I'm not a gun snob.. heck, I can't afford to be, although I have saved my pennies for some pretty nice guns over the years.

If I really HAD to pick one it'd be a llama, but theres no way I would intentionally spend money on either one.

( actually to be honest I have a jennings j22, but only as a joke/conversation piece. )

What are the materials? I know the Llama is made from steel. As far as the specifications, that is the composition and hardness specifications, I don't know. Check out Kuhnhausen's second book for 1911 specs. Did the Spanish gunmakers copy the specs? I tested a barrel of one of my Llama .380's, and it was dead soft. The 1911 spec is RC 37-43.5, which is far from being dead soft. It may be that the .45 received more critical attention to detail. I like my Llama .380, but I wouldn't expect it to go 30K rounds or more like a Colt will. In the lug area alone it would batter itself into uselessness. The Jiminez? I can't comment on zinc guns beyond :barf:

The Llama will probably last longer, but as has already been said they're usually made of very soft steel. You mentioned in another forum that the Jennings you own jams with every mag. Sounds to me like it's time to turn that one into non-firing display or a boat anchor no matter what you decide.

LLama. I've just seen less problems with them. The others? Well I don't know.

dsk I have decided to get rid of the jennings, that is the reason I came across the Llama I found in the pawnshop. I have heard nothing good about the Jennings 9mm, unfortonatly it was my first semiauto and I wish I would have been apart of a gun forum then but oh well I am getting rid of it.

So I jump ship in Hong Kong and make my way over to Tibet, and I get on as a looper at a course over in the Himalayas. A looper, you know, a caddy, a looper, a jock. So, I tell them I'm a pro jock, and who do you think they give me? The Dalai Lama, himself. Twelfth son of the Lama. The flowing robes, the grace, bald... striking. So, I'm on the first tee with him. I give him the driver. He hauls off and whacks one---big hitter, the Lama---long, into a ten-thousand foot crevasse, right at the base of this glacier. Do you know what the Lama says? Gunga galunga... gunga, gunga-galunga. So we finish the eighteenth and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, "Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know." And he says, "Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consiousness." So I got that goin' for me, which is nice.

LLama, by a camels nose.

I have a Llama 1911. Accuaracy is fantastic and it has a very good fit and finish. Good gun. Never had an issue with it.

Did the nice nurse with the little pills not come around yet?

I think I'm lost.
