I was bored at work today and I saw a Sig P226 with 3 mags at AuctionArms for the minimum bid of $400. It said excellent condition so I said what the hell and bid the minimum. Lo and behold I won it at the minimum bid so I picked it up this afternoon. Some holster wear but the internals are pristine and it was well cared for. This was certainly an impulse buy; however, I've been looking to replace my Ruger P89 as range blaster. Did I pay to much??? (What looks like rust is not, it's the red focus beam from my camera)

Can't see the barrel or slide but it looks great! If they look this good I'm big-time jealous. Looks like a really good buy.

It has had some rounds put thru it but it's still very tight and the bore is perfect. Probably shouldn't impulse buy like that but - it is a Sig. BTW I also retired in 92 from Randolph AFB...

That is an average price for one, but you will love it. This is your first Sig, but not your last. There will be more.

Went over to the Sig forum today and found out about the date code. I looked mine up and it was a JK so it was made in 89. Had no idea it was nearly 20 years old and still in this nice condition. The way I figure it, I can always throw a new barrel in when necessary so age shouldn't matter. Also got notification today that MGS shipped my P225 so it should be here soon. Range day tomorrow for the 226...

Nice find. I've enjoyed my 1994 220 for a while now, totally reliable. Don't worry about the barrel, you won't out shoot it.

PS USAF 92-96.

I believe that what they are selling are the P6 P225s.
These are police trade-ins from over in Europe.

Don't worry about shooting out that barell, I don't think it's possible unless you are rich and can afford unlimited amounts of ammo and range time.

Wow, now I know why folks like Sigs. Took the 226 to the range today and put thru 4 boxes of CCI and WWB. It's absolutely accurate and extremely comfortable to shoot. The first mag I put everything inside the 8 ring at 10 meters without even trying to hard. I've never fired a pistol that well the first time out. No doubt this will be a keeper. I think I'll send out the slide to CCR to have it refinished so it looks as good as it shoots. Now when the P6 gets here I hope it's even close to the 226...

Wow, just been back from the range a half-hour when they called and said my P6 just arrived. I hopped in the truck and ran over to pick it up. I was very happy when I opened the box as it looked good and was very clean and tight. The guys at the range (and gun store) were looking hard at it and I expect they're going to oder a few to put on the shelf. Back to the range tommorw to give this one a workout...

I don't know if you are planning to CCW your P6. If so, make sure you put at least 150 rounds of you carry ammo through it to make sure it feed HPs. The P6s were originally designed to shoot ball ammo and some of them will not feed HP ammo reliably. The ramp on the back of the barrel is slightly different on some of the P6s. The stiff DA trigger pull of the P6s can be remedied with and 18lb hammer spring from Wolff.
Good luck with your sweet pair of Sigs!
