Was just in one of my local gunshops lately and the dealer got a crate in full of new in cosmoline Yugislavian SKS'. These weren't just the typical SKS', however, they all came standard with a folding bayonet, a gernade launcher with flip of Gernade Launching sites, extra firing pin, oiler, and etc. The total price for one of these was $260.

How much would you say a Yugi SKS mint with the folding bayonet, gernade launcher, sites, and all the rest would/should go for? Is $260 a good price for such a mint sks with extras? Let me know if I should buy it or not, as I am very curious ;)

BTW, how much do SKS stripper clips go for and where can I buy some cheap ones? The guy tried to say that they cost $2 each.

Blain,

All Yugo SKS's come with the attachments that you mentioned. A Like New SKS sells for about $150. That's what AIM Surplus (http://www.aimsurplus.com/acatalog/New_Rifles_.html) is getting for them and that includes shipping. Figure about $20 for a transfer and you're looking at $170 for a Like New SKS.

Stripper clips can probably be found at your local gunshow the cheapest. They should be at least half that figure that you gave. I think Tapco has them for $6.99 a 20pack, but unless you order other things, you'll get hurt on the shipping charges.

Got my 2 from a local dealer for $169 each---with all the goodies.

Got 100 stripper clips from CDNN for $13---before shipping-----but had a big order--so shipping was minimal per part.

I paid $149.99 to my door from AIM for a unissued Yugo SKS like you talked about. Mine didn't come with any extras however. I got 20 stripper clips from CDNN for $4.00. At gun shows, stripper clips seem to run between $.50-$2.00 each.

What s the e-mail that I can use to request the C&R FFL forms? How does the ATF check to see if I sent a copy to my local CLEO???

All information and documents can be found here: http://www.cruffler.com/becomingcruffler.html

It's better to just send the letter rather than ask how the ATF will know and what they will do to you if you don't, after all you are not after his approval, just informing him.

I paid $180 here in CA (with the brake instead of the grenade spigot). Mine appeared to have been unfired if the bolt face is any indication. Unless it's in absolutely perfect condition (no cosmoline, no dings in the wood, etc), it shouldn't cost more than $210.

As for stripper clips, I bought 100 for $20 not long ago. I can't recall where, but some rooting around the web should turn up something similar. If the dealer wants $2 each, he should be offering a reach around.

How to the "Select- Like New" Yugo SKSs at Aim Surplus compare to the Romanian SKSs of the same grade from two or three years ago?

Once I send in the paperwork, how long does it usually take for my license to clear and be sent to me?

C&R FFL can take anywhere from 3 weeks to 3 months.
