Bought a gun this year yet?

January 5, 2008, 09:04 PM
I did!
I just adopted a brand spanking new Glock 19 :D
Not I have the 17 and 19... next on the list is the 26 :D

Yea, guess which side I picked in the 9mm vs. .45 war

Just a few hours ago I came home with a Springfield XD 9 Tactical (5"). It complements my XD 40 Service (4") quite nicely. :)

January 5, 2008, 09:13 PM
I bought a Buckmark on New Year's Eve, but I picked it up this year. Does that count?

you go eric lol.9mm glocks are excellent weapons!

i own 2 g26s(my most ccw'ed gun)and a g19 i aquired last month as a christmas present to first glock was a 1993 g19 and i think the new ones shoot somewhat better.

before this years out i will add a g34 to the pile, this will be set up as my idea of the ultimate home defense pistol;good sights trigger system, extended cap mag(g17mag+taylor+10 extension=28rounds ready to repel boarders.will also add a light laser combo(hopefully insight will have one with a green laser diode by then).

my reasons for prefering 9mm;my ability to strike a target accuratly 3 times in the time i take to hit it twice with a 45acp or 40s&w.handguns are'nt the best stoppers so i belive that its best to get as many on target as quick as possible to stop the threat.

just remember 9mm relys on good ammo to stop,my ammo of choice is fed bple 9mm 115gr jhp +p+ which does 1250fps from a g26 and somewhat more from longer barreled glocks.

forgot to mention i picked up a h&r mod 622 6"barreled 22 cal wheelgun.

well used with a little surface rust and a goofy part plastic hammerspring guide that had the plastic part broken.good thing gunparts corp makes a all metal part which for a bit less than $20 they'll send me.thats all it needs to be able to give me another way to shoot cheap 22lr that wont feed in autos.

all told she'll set me back a total of $120

not to shabby imho:)

January 5, 2008, 09:41 PM
Waiting on a CMP service grade Garand. It hasn't hit the cc yet ...

January 5, 2008, 09:43 PM
I'll be picking up my Walther P-1 within the next month. I'm seriously considering putting a Sig P-6 on layaway tommorrow.

Not yet. Low on cash. Tried to trade off my HK USP Tactical in .45, but was not offered a very good deal. Starting to get all shaky, has been over a year since I purchased a new gun. I think I am about to go through withdrawal.

January 5, 2008, 10:23 PM
Colt AR15 SP1. Bought it in December and received it in January. Close enough.

January 5, 2008, 10:37 PM
Picked up my MKIII Stainless Hunter yesterday!

January 5, 2008, 11:19 PM
I'm still thinking.

Might be an M&P compact

A dealer I know has a nice S&W 6946

My dad has expressed a willingness to part with his Walther P99 QA

I really like the new S&W 40 Centennial.

And I want a BFR in 45-70.

I'd like to get a couple of AR15s before November.

Decisions, decisions.

January 5, 2008, 11:25 PM
Bought one of the new Ruger 10/22 pistols today. I didn't even know they were out yet.

When I got home I put a BSA Red Dot sight on it and let a friend and his boy run some magazines through it.

Pretty impressive. At 25 yards, with some 20+ year old Remington HV ammo they were scaring inch groups.

Tomorrow I think I'll have some time to put a scope on it and see how it does at some distance.

January 5, 2008, 11:34 PM
I have one that I am in the middle of a transaction with. Will report when I get it.

Recently, over the last two years or so, I have added the following to my collection:

PA63 9x18,
Rock Island 1911A1 .45 ACP
Rock Island 1911A2 .45 ACP
Yugo M70AB2 Underfolder
M1A .308
Uzi Model B

January 5, 2008, 11:37 PM

January 6, 2008, 12:24 AM
Yes, CZ-52. Should be here Monday.

January 6, 2008, 01:07 AM
Sorry. I couldn't wait for "this" year. Got it on the 28th.

Remington 597, Bushnell 4X32.

January 6, 2008, 02:14 AM
Not yet. Might be a while, seeing as I'm saving up to buy my dad a pistol for a retirement gift.

January 6, 2008, 02:26 AM
Still paying for the last of the guns I bought last year...:D

And an old lady bought a beautiful old LAPD-engraved 60 Chief's Special while I was hemming and hawing over whether to buy it. Oh well, she needs it more than me. The trigger was really light and smooth; obviously had been worked, and by someone who knew what he was doing. She apparently couldn't pull a DA trigger on most other guns due to arthritis.

Still, though, it was a beauty.:)

January 6, 2008, 02:32 AM
I'm afraid so. I was hoping to make it until at least February before I fell, but today a S&W 642 followed me wife was in the gun store with me, just egging me on :neener:. I'm a lucky man!

January 6, 2008, 02:33 AM
got one of those so called crappy wasr2's.

i got lucky. it's straight and goes bang everytime i pull the trigger.:neener:

January 6, 2008, 02:35 AM
busy feeding all the stuff i bought last year

January 6, 2008, 02:44 AM
No, but I hope to by march.

January 6, 2008, 02:54 AM
Yes, I have. I picked up a CZ-82 at a gunshow last Sunday. I've only put 150 rounds through it so far, but I'm quite impressed by it.

January 6, 2008, 04:28 AM
CMP M1 Garand with ammo.

January 6, 2008, 04:30 AM

I have the cash.... and would love to add to my little collection, but I can't figure out what I would buy that wouldn't be frivelous and filling a need that isn't already filled with my other guns.

Only thing I can think of is a Kahr PM40 or MK40.

January 6, 2008, 04:35 AM
Sounds like you are racking up a glock collection. When is glock going to come out with a buy one get 19 free deal?

Congrats and hope you enjoy it. All you makin' me jealous as I didn't get anything or even use anything yet this year. That sounds horrible! I haven't shot a gun ALL YEAR! I'll have to change that tomorrow. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

I have the cash....
well, that is an EASY one! Flip open Gun Cartridges of the World, first one you dont have anything have the cash...all the ones you don't have anything chambered in, order!

Kind of Blued
January 6, 2008, 06:33 AM
Not yet. After these bills and stuff I'm going to be living for FREE for the next 6-12 months, so I'm making a list.

S&W 642
CC Class & Training
Holster or two
DPMS AP4 Carbine
Mossberg 930 SPX
Lots and lots of high cap AK, AR, and various handgun mags.

All basically in potential fear of our next president.

January 6, 2008, 10:21 AM
Yup. Brought home a couple saiga 12s, a 10-22, a winchester model 70 XTR 30-06, and I FINALLY found my marlin lever action in 41 mag.

Now I'm certifiably BROKE. But I'm grinning ear to ear.

January 6, 2008, 10:25 AM
Put a PT1911 on lay-away this past Friday.

January 6, 2008, 10:52 AM
Of course. Couple more Turkish Mausers.

January 6, 2008, 11:51 AM
I picked up a Mossberg 590 yesterday at the at the Roanoke Valley gun show. While I'm sitting there doing the paperwork, the guy sitting next to me was just humming away, happy as a clam at high tide. "Did you get something?" I asked. "Yep" he said, "it's right over there."

The guy pointed to a 50 caliber machine gun that looked like it was every bit of five feet long.

"Where in the hell are you going to shoot that thing?" I asked. He replied "I've set up a range that's a mile long on my property. Where I live, the neighbors will never even hear it."

I could only shake my head in amazement and wish him well as he left.

January 6, 2008, 03:26 PM
Not exactly.
The PF9 I bought in December had to go back to KT.
When I get it back, either later this month or next, it will have a new frame, which tecnically means it will be a new gun!!

Lucky Strike
January 6, 2008, 04:30 PM
Kind of suppose.

I bought a Ruger GP100 the last week of december but won't be able to actually pick it up from my FFL till Monday.

I also put down 50% on a Taurus Tracker .22 order about four weeks ago (the guy at the shop said it should take about 3 days to get one).......a month has gone by and they still haven't been able to get one in.

January 6, 2008, 04:49 PM
Got a Ploy Tech M14S yesterday :p Man it is sweet. .308 ammo is so dang expensive right now though.

January 6, 2008, 04:53 PM
S&w M&p .40

January 6, 2008, 06:11 PM
Just ordered a unissued polish Mosin Nagant M44. I'll get it this saturday!

January 6, 2008, 06:57 PM

January 6, 2008, 08:11 PM

January 6, 2008, 08:48 PM
Got a marlin 25 off gunbroker last night. I bought at least 14 guns last year that i can remember. I'm not buying near that many this year.

I hope.

January 6, 2008, 09:52 PM
Not yet but my son's 17th b-day is in May; a Remington Model 7 is in his future.

January 6, 2008, 10:03 PM
sounds like a great way to start the year

January 6, 2008, 10:05 PM
I unexpectedly bought a Taurus pt1911 on Friday when I stumbled across a good price on a classified ad. Then my CFP finally showed up yesterday, so I had to go out and buy a Kahr CW9 right away. I needed a small CC gun, plus it's a steal since I don't have to pay the $7.50 for a background check anymore, plus $380 seemed like a good price... at least that's how I justified buying a gun two days in a row :D

January 6, 2008, 10:07 PM
I bought a Kimber Ultra Raptor & a suppressor for my Cobb BA-50.

January 6, 2008, 10:11 PM
S&W 642 for my wife

January 6, 2008, 11:32 PM
Yeah, I just signed up for a new Colt 1911 (1991A1). She is a beautiful auto.

January 7, 2008, 12:09 AM
Kinda made a resolution not to buy any more this year, and instead focus on using the ones I have a whole bunch.

However, I find myself drawn to mid-size .357 revolvers, so I can't promise unswerving adherence to my resolution.

January 7, 2008, 12:42 AM
i bought a xd 9mm the other day and hte wife bought a nra buckmark

Bazooka Joe71
January 7, 2008, 12:51 AM

Actually, i got it at the end of December, hope that counts.:)

January 7, 2008, 01:07 AM
I bought a xd9 with a stainless slide and on tuesday I will be forking over the $1200 for a kimber eclipse custom in 10mm

January 7, 2008, 01:15 AM
These two:

January 7, 2008, 01:26 AM
On Monday, 1-7-08, I'll pick up my new Sako 75 Varmint Laminated Stainless in .22-250. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a real tack-driver.

January 7, 2008, 01:33 AM
I saw a Taurus Titanium .45 ACP Saturday at the gun show, kind of liked it, went home and did a little research. Went back today and bought it--new in the box $425.00. I'll probably shoot it in the morning.
Another gun show this coming week end, if I don't like it I guess it will get traded off.

January 7, 2008, 03:57 AM
Oops, add another CZ-52 and a Marlin 336cs since yesterday. :o

January 7, 2008, 09:59 AM
Thinking about a used GP100 a local shop has in the case but waiting to see what Cabelas has on sale this week....

January 7, 2008, 10:04 AM
Got a nice Romanian SKS yesterday! Now I just need a ton of stripper clips to load.

Thinking about picking up a S&W M&P9 before the 2 free mags and $50 off deal expires.

I also need a good pump-action 12 gauge.

And eventually I want a suppressed 22LR pistol... argh, so many guns, so little money! :o

The Annoyed Man
January 7, 2008, 12:14 PM
No, but I did buy a Bushmaster Varminter on 12/29/07. Does that count? Come to think of it, I bought 4 fairly expensive firearms in 2007:

1. Remington 700 VSF
2. Sig 1911 Revolution Carry Stainless
3. H&K USPc
4. Bushmaster Varminter

Plus 2 reasonably expensive rifle scopes:

1. Leupold VX-III 4.5-14x50mm
2. Burris XTR Tactical 3-12x50mm

Now I've got to save up for a deer lease, so no new firearms for a while. :D

January 7, 2008, 01:09 PM
I bought a 452 Trainer on December 29th. California mandates a ten-day waiting period before you take possession so I won't have it in my hands until this Saturday. Does that count?

I'm also waiting on a CMP Garand.
